Vila Nova de Milfontes Hiking Tour
Your first hike kicks off with views over Vila Nova de Milfontes and the River Mira. This introductory route covers about 15 km over roughly 5 hours, which gives you a comfortable pace to settle into the rhythm of walking and take in the landscape around you.

Landmarks River Mira Vila Nova de Milfontes - Day 3
Zambujeira do Mar
Today you'll walk through small fishing villages, past reddish sand dunes, and into pine forests. The cliffs here attract over 20 bird species, so keep an eye out for them. This 22 km hike takes about 7 hours and ends in Zambujeira, where you can hear the Atlantic waves crashing below from high above the coast.

Landmarks Zambujeira do Mar - Day 4
Odeceixe
You'll follow old fishing trails that connect multiple beaches, including Alteirinhos, Carvalhal, Machados, and Amália. Along the way you can see a natural fishing port at Azenha do Mar. The route is roughly 18 km and takes around 7 hours, finishing with views of Odeceixe beach from Ponta em Branco.

Aljezur
This 22 km hike follows the Seixe river delta, where you'll notice the scents of aromatic shrubs and the variety of wildlife. After that, the path shifts to an old fishermen's route through wetlands and coastal heathlands before entering the Algarve region and arriving in Aljezur. Plan for about 7 hours of walking.

- Day 6
Vila do Bispo
Starting from Aljezur, you'll hike 16 km to Carrapateira, passing through the Barranco da Pena Furada gorge and rocky formations. You'll see several beaches like Praia do Amado, then continue along the coastal plateau to end in Vila do Bispo. This takes roughly 7 hours total.

Sagres
From Vila do Bispo, you head toward Cabo de São Vicente, the most south-westerly point of mainland Europe. You'll get a sense of why this place feels different when you reach the cliffs and visit the lighthouse. After that, the route follows the cliff edge down to Sagres, a fishing village with real character. The full distance is about 21 km and takes around 7 hours.
