Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Arrival

    You'll make your way to the hotel at your own pace this evening. Your Holiday Director will be waiting to greet you and get everyone oriented for the days ahead.

  2. Day 2

    Cahuita National Park

    Head out to Puerto Viejo de Limon, a Caribbean beach spot that draws surfers from all over. This afternoon you're visiting Cahuita National Park where you'll see the protected coral reef and spots where sea turtles nest. Keep your eyes open for keel-billed toucans, herons, monkeys, and other wildlife moving through the forest.

  3. Day 3

    Watsi - Rio Dos Aguas Waterfall

    The Bribri Reserve is on today's agenda to learn about the indigenous culture and traditions there. You'll tour Watsi, a family home where five generations live together, and see how they grow and prepare traditional medicinal plants and chocolate. You'll grind your own chocolate and sit down to a home-cooked meal of local chicken with vegetables. After that, you head to Rio Dos Aguas Waterfall to wrap up the day.

  4. Day 4

    Tortuguero National Park

    Start early heading toward Tortuguero National Park. Stop for breakfast at a restaurant along the way, then board a boat for the final leg since there are no roads to reach Tortuguero. You'll arrive at the hotel in time for lunch. Later, walk through Tortuguero Village and visit the Caribbean Conservation Center to learn about sea turtle nesting programs.

  5. Day 5

    Tortuguero National Park

    Two guided boat tours take you through the park's freshwater channels and jungle waterways. You'll cruise the canals and swamps looking for monkeys, river otters, crocodiles, caimans, and different bird species. Your guide will lead you on some trails, pointing out wildlife and explaining the park's history and how the ecosystem functions.

  6. Day 6

    Muelle de San Carlos

    After breakfast, you'll leave Tortuguero by boat and drive to Muelle de San Carlos with a lunch stop along the way. This afternoon features the Mi Cafecito Coffee Tour where you learn about Costa Rican coffee producers, taste the coffee, and browse souvenirs. A bird watching tour is available in the morning if you're interested, and the evening is yours to relax at the hotel.

  7. Day 7

    Hanging Bridges - Thermal Bath

    You'll spend the day exploring the rainforest canopy at the Hanging Bridges of Arenal. Walk across 15 bridges, including six suspended in the canopy, with the 98-metre Tyra Bridge and Waterfall Bridge standing out at 60 metres high. Over 250 bird species live here, plus reptiles, mammals, and insects you might spot. Early evening takes you to a thermal bath complex nestled in the jungle, then dinner wraps up the day.

  8. Day 8

    Arenal to Guanacaste

    After breakfast, you'll transfer to the Guanacaste region where you'll stay for the next three nights. This area offers you a range of Costa Rican landscapes, from thick rainforests to beautiful beaches.

    Guanacaste

    This day is free for you to explore the local Guanacaste area however you'd like. You can wander around at your own pace and discover what interests you most.

  10. Day 10

    Playa Carrillo

    Another free day on your hands. Playa Carrillo is the main beach here if you want to spend time by the water. This evening you'll join everyone for a farewell dinner at a local restaurant in Puerto Carrillo serving traditional Costa Rican food.
