Palermo
You'll arrive at your hotel in Palermo and get settled for your first night. A private transfer from the airport can be arranged if you need it. Take the evening to acclimate to this vibrant Sicilian city.

- Day 2
Palermo
After breakfast, head out to Monreale to see the Norman Cathedral and its Cloister, which blend Arab-Norman architecture in striking ways. Then you'll explore Palermo's cultural sites including the Cathedral, Martorana Church, and Cappella Palatina. Walk through Teatro Massimo and check out Pretoria Square with its famous fountain. Grab traditional lunch with local dishes before heading back to your hotel.

Cefalu - Catania
After breakfast, travel north to Cefalu, a medieval town on the coast. Walk through its narrow streets and visit the Norman Dome and Mandralisca Museum. Stop for lunch at a well-known local spot, then continue to Catania. There you'll see the Duomo square with its Cathedral and Liotru elephant statue, stroll along baroque Via dei Crociferi past the S. Benedict Monastery, and have granita and brioche at a historic bar in the city center.

- Day 4
Mount Etna - Taormina - Catania
Start with a short morning walk through Catania's fish market, then head to Mount Etna (3,350 meters/11,000 feet). You'll stop at Rifugio Sapienza and walk around the Crateri Silvestri volcanic cones for views across Sicily and the Aeolian Islands. Taste local honey and regional products, then have lunch. Later, travel to Taormina to see the Greek theatre with Mount Etna in the distance, browse the medieval streets, and look out over the Riviera dei Ciclopi before returning to Catania.

Catania
This day is yours to spend as you'd like in Catania. You can relax at your hotel, wander around at your own pace, try restaurants, or check out attractions that interest you. It's a nice break to do things on your schedule.

Syracuse - Noto - Ragusa
After breakfast, travel to Syracuse, a significant ancient Greek colony. Explore the Archaeological Park with its Greek Theatre, Roman Amphitheatre, and the Ear of Dionysius. Then visit Ortigia, the historic core, where you'll see the Cathedral with its Sicilian-Baroque facade and Arethusa's Fountain. Have lunch at your own pace, then continue to Noto to walk through this beautiful Baroque town. You'll see Palazzo Nicolaci Villadorata before heading to Ragusa for dinner and the night.

- Day 7
Modica - Piazza Armerina - Agrigento
Explore Ragusa Ibla, a UNESCO site and birthplace of Sicilian Baroque (it's famous from the Montalbano TV series). Visit the Cathedral in Dome square and the peaceful Giardini Ibleo gardens. Travel to Modica for chocolate tasting at Sabadi, a well-known chocolate maker. After lunch, visit Villa Romana del Casale in Piazza Armerina to see its colorful mosaics. End the day with dinner in Agrigento.

Marsala - Palermo
Check out the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento, a UNESCO site with 5th-century Doric temples including the Temple of Hera, Temple of Concordia, and Temple of Heracles surrounded by almond groves. Travel to Marsala, the historic town where Garibaldi arrived in 1860. Tour the Florio Cellars and see the massive 19th-century vats and barrel chambers. Have a light lunch with wine tasting in their tasting rooms, then explore the Salt Road with its old salt marshes. Head back to Palermo for the evening.

- Day 9
Erice - Segesta - Palermo
After breakfast, travel to Erice, perched at 751 meters on Mount S. Giuliano. Walk the narrow medieval streets and Spanish-style courtyards, and visit the main cathedral and Venere Castle. You'll get wide views of Trapani bay, salt pans, and the Aegadian islands. In the afternoon, travel to Segesta to see the 3rd-century Doric temple and ancient theatre in agricultural landscape. Return to Palermo for the evening.
