Arrival in Berlin
Your journey begins with an airport pickup that takes you straight to your hotel in central Berlin, where you'll spend the next three nights. This gives you a chance to settle in and get oriented with the city right away.

Berlin
Join a guided tour this morning covering Berlin's key historical sites, including the Berlin Cathedral and the Berlin Wall. After the tour wraps up, the rest of the day is yours to explore. Walk through the arts district, check out historic buildings, or find a restaurant that catches your eye.

Berlin
You've got the full day on your own here. Wander around the city and see what interests you, whether that's historic sites, modern architecture, or the museums on Museum Island. If food markets appeal to you, there are several to check out, and Kurfürstendamm has plenty of shops. Alternatively, you can take a guided trip to nearby Potsdam instead.

Berlin to Frankfurt
After breakfast, you'll fly to Frankfurt and head directly to your Emerald Cruises ship. This evening, meet your travel group at dinner on board and get to know the other passengers as your cruise begins.

Rüdesheim
The ship docks at Rüdesheim, where you can walk through town to see the cuckoo clocks and local character. You'll ride the Winzerexpress train up to Siegfried's Mechanical Music Cabinet Museum, housed in a 15th-century tower with music boxes and original frescoes. There's also a lecture about Rhine legends and mythology included.

Koblenz
At Koblenz, take a guided walking tour to the German Corner where two rivers meet. A cable car takes you across to Ehrenbreitstein Fortress for views of the valley below and the Rhine Gorge. Basel to Zermatt
After breakfast in Basel, you'll transfer by coach into the Swiss Alps to Zermatt, a small village at the base of the Matterhorn where you'll stay for two nights. The town itself has no cars, so everything is quiet and walkable once you arrive.

Zermatt
A guided walking tour shows you around Zermatt and explains how the village maintains its car-free character. In the afternoon, you can relax or take the cog railway up to Gornergrat mountain at 3,089 meters for views across the alpine peaks and surrounding valleys.

Zermatt to Zurich
