Itinerary
- Day 1
Tirana
You'll arrive in Tirana and meet your tour leader and group around 6pm at the hotel. After settling in, you'll head out for an orientation tour through the city center, walking past Skanderbeg Square, Toptani Street, and the Blloku district to get a feel for the place. Your leader will fill you in on Tirana's complex history spanning Ottoman, fascist, and Communist eras. The day wraps up with a group dinner so you can meet everyone properly.

- Day 2
Tirana to Prizren to Valbona Valley
You'll depart around 8am for a scenic drive through Albania into Kosovo. In Prizren, you'll wander the old town and spend time at cafes around Shadervan Square soaking in the Ottoman-influenced architecture. After crossing back into Albania, you'll transfer to Valbona Valley in the Albanian Alps. Once you check in, a 1 hour 30 minute circular hike takes you through traditional villages up to 3,280ft (1,000m), where you'll see stone houses set against dramatic mountain backdrops.

- Day 3
Valbona Valley
Starting around 8:30am after breakfast, you'll hike to Rama Hut through Valbona Valley National Park. The route takes you across alpine meadows, rugged mountain passes, and forests, and you'll pass shepherd huts along the way that provide cultural context. After roughly 3 hours you'll reach Stani i Rames where you'll rest and eat a packed lunch. You'll retrace your steps back to Valbonë for a traditional dinner, and by evening you'll be ready to rest after the day's physical demands.

Çerem to Doberdol
Around 8am you'll transfer to Çerem village to start your next hike. Following white-red-white trail markings, you'll climb moderately through forested paths and meadows for about 4 miles until you reach an old military memorial and small bar marking the Kosovo-Montenegro border. From there the path continues through forests with occasional meadows, and you'll stop at a small hut to refill water before arriving in Doberdol, a remote Alpine village. Accommodation here is basic with shared outdoor facilities, giving you an authentic mountain village experience.

Doberdol to Sylbice to Bajram Curri
From Doberdol you'll hike toward the remote village of Sylbice. Shortly after you start, you'll reach Dashi Lake, a serene glacial lake with clear waters ringed by towering mountains. The trail then climbs to the day's highest point at 6,695ft (2,040m) with panoramic views before descending into Sylbice valley. You'll have lunch in the village, then transfer about 2 hours to Bajram Curri, a gateway town to the Albanian Alps where you'll rest for the evening.

Koman Lake to Kruje
After a one-hour transfer, you'll take a peaceful boat ride across Koman Lake for roughly 2 hours, winding between high cliffs and towering peaks. Your leader will mention that three hydroelectric plants at the lake produce about 70 percent of Albania's electricity. Then you'll drive for 2 hours 30 minutes to Kruje, the center of Skanderbeg's 15th-century resistance against Ottoman invasion. Depending on when you arrive, you might have time to visit the Skanderbeg Museum inside Kruja Castle or walk through the old town.

Kruje to Berat
You'll travel 2 hours 15 minutes to Berat, known for its distinct Ottoman-era architecture and layout. Walking with your tour leader, you'll start at the imposing Berat Castle, then move through cobblestone streets past traditional homes and churches. The Dollani House gives you insight into 19th-century Albanian life and regional architectural heritage. You'll finish by exploring Berat's two main quarters: Mangalem on the northern bank with Ottoman-style stacked houses, and Gorica across the river with its own distinctive narrow streets and character.

Departure from Berat
