Colombo to Negombo
You'll touch down at Colombo Bandaranaike International Airport where a RanlankaTour Holidays representative meets you. After a short transfer, you're settled into your beachside hotel in Negombo. Your first night is complimentary. Later, catch up with your tour guide to plan tomorrow or take a walk along the beach to shake off travel fatigue.

Negombo
Wake to ocean sounds and spend the day at your own pace in Negombo. Check out the vibrant fish markets, pop into colonial-era churches, or take a boat ride on the historic Dutch-era Hamilton Canal. The long golden beach is yours to relax on or walk at sunset. You'll start getting a feel for Sri Lankan culture and friendly locals as you ease into the trip.

Negombo to Habarana
Breakfast at 7:30 AM, then head toward the Cultural Triangle. Stop at Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage to watch baby elephants bottle-fed and bathing in the river. From there, climb Sigiriya Rock Fortress (200 meters high) for ancient royal gardens, frescoes, and broad views. After that, visit a wood carving center and experience rural village life with a bullock cart ride and canoeing.

- Day 4
Habarana
Start with a bullock cart ride through paddy fields and a catamaran crossing on a lake near Sigiriya village. By mid-morning, head into Minneriya National Park for a full-day safari where you'll see wild Asian elephant herds bathing and feeding. The park has over 170 bird species too, plus chances to spot leopards, sloth bears, and spotted deer. Return to Habarana around sunset.

- Day 5
Habarana to Anuradhapura
After 7:30 AM breakfast, travel to Anuradhapura, one of the world's oldest continuously inhabited cities and a UNESCO site. This sacred Buddhist center spans over 40 square kilometers with temples and monasteries. See the Ruwanweliseya Stupa, the Sri Maha Bodhi tree (planted in 288 BC), and the peaceful Samadhi Buddha Statue. You're stepping into history dating back to the 4th century BC.

Anuradhapura to Kandy
After breakfast, leave for Kandy with a stop at Dambulla Golden Rock Temple, a major UNESCO site. Explore five caves holding 157 Buddha statues and murals covering 2,100 square meters from the 1st century BC. Climb to the rock's top for panoramic views. Later, stop at Matale Spice Garden before reaching Kandy. Depending on arrival time, you might visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic or relax at your hotel.

Then explore the hill country town of Nuwara Eliya, visiting Victoria Park, Seetha Amman Temple, and Gregory Lake for peaceful scenery before checking in.

Nuwara Eliya
Leave early for Horton Plains National Park, a UNESCO site in the Central Highlands. Hike through misty cloud forests to World's End cliff (900-meter drop) with sweeping valley views. See Baker's Falls surrounded by greenery. Return to Nuwara Eliya for a tea plucking experience at a working plantation. After that, walk through Hakgala Botanical Garden, visit Ramboda Waterfalls, and do a city tour.

Nuwara Eliya to Tissamaharama
Leave Nuwara Eliya early heading toward Yala, but stop in Ella for a hike to Little Adam's Peak with views across Ella Gap. See the Nine Arch Bridge set among tea fields and grab photos at Ravana Falls. As you travel south, the landscape shifts from cool highlands to warmer plains. Pass a colorful Hindu temple before reaching Tissamaharama, your base for tomorrow's safari adventure.

Yala National Park
Spend a full day on a jeep safari through Yala National Park, known for the world's highest leopard density. Watch for elephants, deer, and wild boar. The park has over 130 bird species, so bring binoculars. You might spot mugger crocodiles, monitor lizards, or sea turtles along the coastline. Have a traditional Sri Lankan lunch during the safari, then transfer to your hotel in Unawatuna.

Mirissa to Unawatuna
Rise early for a whale and dolphin watching trip from Mirissa on the Indian Ocean. Search for Blue Whales (the largest creatures on Earth), plus Bryde's, Sperm, and Fin Whales. Look for Spinner, Bottlenose, and Risso's Dolphins too. You might catch flying fish, sea turtles, manta rays, or sharks. After returning, relax on the beach, visit the seaside Wella Devalaya temple, and see the stilt fishermen at Weligama before heading to Unawatuna.
