Highlights

We've graded the pace of our tour of North India as moderate - we'll cover a lot of ground to fit in the highlights so expect some long drives.
Our accommodation is chosen based on location and authenticity - while it brings us closer to local life, standards may not meet those of home.
During this tour, we'll spend two nights on sleeper trains - facilities are basic but the experience is an integral part of any journey through India.
As bustling as it is colourful, India can be an overwhelming destination, but it rewards you with cultural, gastronomic, and historic delights. To fully immerse yourself in this magnificent country, it's best approached with an open mind.

Day 1 Join tour in Delhi and walking tour of Old Delhi
Day 2 City tour of New Delhi before travelling to Jaipur
Day 3 Explore Amber Fort, afternoon at leisure in the Pink City - Jaipur
Day 4 Visit Jaipur's City Palace, Observatory and Palace of the Winds. Travel to Pushkar
Day 5 Exploring Pushkar - Sunrise at Savitri Temple and Pushkar City
Day 6 Jeep safari in Ranthambore National Park
Day 7 Safari to spot tigers before visit to Fatehpur Sikri en route to Agra
Day 8 Watch the sun rise over the Taj Mahal and visit Agra Fort and Baby Taj
Day 9 Drive to Chambal Sanctuary, village walk
Day 10 Search for soft-shell turtles and explore Machkund Temple
Day 11 Relaxed morning in Chambal before visiting Bateshwar and boarding our overnight train to Varanasi
Day 12 Visit Buddhist temples at Sarnath and evening watching the Aarti ceremony
Day 13 Morning boat ride on the Ganges. Afternoon at leisure in Varanasi

We had hoped to spot Tigers, Sloth Bear on our travels and were so lucky to view both Also the Taj Mahal was breathtaking and the chance to experience the Holy city of Varanasi

Although the palaces etc were fabulous, actually walking along the streets and along the River Ganges amongst real people was fantastic and great photographic opportunities too.

All time spent sightseeing and meeting the locals. Indu the guide was amazing. He made sure everyone was happy and comfortable the whole time. He stopped at nothing to look after us all and made us feel welcome and safe. He was very knowledgeable and made sure no person felt left out. It was more like travelling with a good friend than guide

Visa

Payment information
- For any tour departing before January 13th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after January 13th, 2026, a minimum payment of 10% is required to confirm your booking with Explore!. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 75 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
- Some departure dates and prices may vary and Explore! will contact you with any discrepancies before your booking is confirmed.
- The following cards are accepted for "Explore!" tours: Visa, Maestro, Mastercard, American Express or PayPal. TourRadar does NOT charge you an extra fee for using any of these payment methods.
