- Day 1
Arrival in Negombo
You'll land at Bandaranaike International Airport and meet your local representative. The 20-minute transfer takes you to your beachfront hotel in Negombo. Spend the afternoon however you like, whether that's by the pool, checking out the hotel gardens, or walking along the beach. Your tour guide meets with you in the evening to go over what's coming up during your trekking adventure.

Negombo to Riverston (Matale)
After breakfast, you'll travel inland from Negombo through green paddy fields and small villages heading toward the Matale highlands. Once you reach Riverston, there's a trek to Sera Ella waterfall and a stop at the famous Riverston viewpoint where you can take in panoramic views of the surrounding hills and valleys. You'll settle into your lodge by evening and get ready for the days ahead.

Trek to Mini World's End & Pitawala Pathana
Following a hearty breakfast, you'll trek through the scenic Riverston Highlands where the trail moves through lush grasslands, dense forests, and mist-covered slopes. You're heading toward Pitawala Pathana with its dramatic cliff edges and deep valley views. Along the way you'll see endemic plants, birds, and meet local villagers. There's a traditional Sri Lankan village lunch at midday, then you head back to your lodge by evening.

Day 1
You'll start early with breakfast before heading deep into the Knuckles Mountain Range, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Your guide leads you through jungle corridors filled with birdsong and old trees where you can watch for lizards, butterflies, monkeys, and birds like the Sri Lanka whistling thrush. You'll come across waterfalls, clear streams, and viewpoints throughout the day. By evening you arrive at your eco-friendly campsite or village homestay for dinner by the campfire.

- Day 5
Day 2 (Meemure & Heeloya)
This morning you wake to nature sounds and continue the second part of your Knuckles trek. The path takes you through dense jungle, bamboo groves, and narrow ridgelines covered in moss and cloud forest. You'll cross mountain streams and pass waterfalls as you head toward Meemure, one of Sri Lanka's most remote villages. After reaching Heeloya in its tranquil valley, you can cool off in natural streams before arriving at a riverside eco-lodge. Later there's a transfer to Kandy for a good night's rest.

Kandy Sightseeing
You'll have a cultural day in Kandy, Sri Lanka's last royal capital and a UNESCO World Heritage City. Start by visiting the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, one of the most venerated Buddhist sites. Next is the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens spreading across 147 acres with over 4,000 plant species. You can take a scenic walk around Kandy Lake from 1807 or explore the city center with local shops and artisans. In the evening, there's the option to catch Kandyan dance performances or get an Ayurveda massage.

Kandy to Ella via Train or Drive
From Kandy to Ella, you'll travel on the iconic train that winds through emerald tea plantations, misty mountains, and villages. It's considered one of the most scenic train rides around and you'll arrive at Ella Station around 3:30 PM. If you prefer, there's a comfortable drive option with stops at the famous Nine Arches Bridge and Deamodara Loops. Once there, you can visit the Nine Arch Bridge, explore tea-covered hills, and see how tea is made at the Amba Tea Estate factory.

You'll leave the misty hill country and head south toward Sinharaja Rainforest, Sri Lanka's last primary rainforest and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The scenic drive passes through villages, waterfalls, and tea estates as things get warmer and more humid. After checking in to your eco-lodge on the forest edge, there's a gentle guided nature walk in the late afternoon where you can spot butterflies, rare reptiles, and large hardwood trees.

- Day 10
Full-Day Sinharaja Rainforest Trek
You wake to rainforest sounds and after breakfast meet your nature guide for a full day trekking into Sinharaja's heart. Along winding forest trails under the ancient canopy, you'll see endemic birds like the Sri Lanka Blue Magpie and Red-faced Malkoha, monkeys, colorful butterflies, and rare amphibians. The terrain varies with gentle climbs, stream crossings, hidden waterfalls, and jungle pools. There's a packed lunch during the trek, and you return to your lodge by late afternoon to listen to tree frogs and cicadas.

Once you arrive in Colombo, there's a transfer to Bandaranaike International Airport for your flight. The team makes sure your departure runs smoothly and hopes to see you back in Sri Lanka again.
