- Day 2
Mexico City
Start in the Centro Histórico, a UNESCO-listed area that's the heart of old Mexico City. Begin at Plaza de La Constitución (the Zócalo), then move to La Catedral Metropolitana and the Templo Mayor Museum to see Aztec ruins. Continue to Palacio de Correos de México, and wrap up at Palacio de Bellas Artes to see Diego Rivera's famous murals.

- Day 3
Mexico City
Head along Paseo de La Reforma, Mexico City's most well-known avenue lined with the Angel of Independence monument. From there, shift over to the upscale Polanco district where you'll check out the Monument to the Mexican Revolution. Stop by the Soumaya Museum and walk down Avenida Presidente Masaryk, where you'll notice a Prague Castle statue that stands out among the shops and galleries.

Spend time in Chapultepec Park, Latin America's largest park with plenty to see. You can rent a rowboat or pedal boat at Lago Mayor, or walk over to the Dolores Cárcamo Museum to view Diego Rivera's underwater mural. Then head up to Chapultepec Castle for historical context and views over the city. By evening, make your way to the National Museum of Anthropology to finish the day.

Mexico City - Coyoacán
Travel to Coyoacán, a historic neighborhood south of the city center, and take the metro if you want to try it out (or grab an Uber). Wander through Viveros de Coyoacán park and explore the plazas in Centro de Coyoacán. The main draw here is the Frida Kahlo Museum in Casa Azul, where you can see the artist's home. If you're interested in cemeteries, Panteón Xoco offers a different look at local culture.

Head to Tlatelolco, a district where significant chapters of Mexican history took place. Check out the Square of the Three Cultures to see how Aztec, Spanish colonial, and modern architecture blend together in one space. You can also visit the Colegio de Santa Cruz de Tlatelolco and see the Torre Insignia, a modernist tower that contrasts with the older structures around it.
