Itinerary
- Day 1
Arrival in Selfoss
You'll land at Keflavik Airport and pick up your rental car, then drive toward Selfoss as the Icelandic landscape unfolds around you. It's only a short drive before you're seeing the raw terrain that makes this country so different from anywhere else. You'll check into your accommodation in Selfoss for the night, getting settled before exploring further.
- Day 2
South Coast
Today focuses on Iceland's South Coast, starting with Seljalandsfoss where you can actually walk behind the 60-meter waterfall. From there, head to Skógafoss to see the power of the water up close. Later in the afternoon, you'll reach the Sólheimasandur plane wreck for dramatic photography opportunities. As the sun sets, conditions are right for catching the Northern Lights if they appear.

Golden Circle
Begin at Kerid crater with its striking blue lake surrounded by red volcanic rocks. Next, you'll go to Gullfoss to experience the waterfall in winter conditions. Then head to Haukadalur where you can watch Strokkur, Stóri, and Great Geysers erupt. The day finishes at Thingvellir National Park where you'll walk where tectonic plates actually meet, explore Almannagja gorge, and see Öxarárfoss waterfall. Hraunfossar and Barnafoss waterfalls are nearby if you have time.

Reykjavik
This is your day to relax and spend time in Reykjavik. You'll soak in Sky Lagoon's geothermal waters with North Atlantic views, and there's a chance to spot Northern Lights from the water. Hallgrímskirkja church gives you panoramic city views from up high. The Harpa concert hall sits nicely along the harbor for photos. If you're interested, the Perlan museum has an ice cave and planetarium aurora show that's worth seeing.

Departure from Reykjavik
Your time in Iceland comes to an end as you drive back to Keflavik Airport to return your rental car and prepare for departure. You'll have time to reflect on the waterfalls, volcanic craters, geysers, glaciers, and fjords you've seen over these days.
