What our customers ask about this tour

Asked on May 7th, 2025Can I bring Canadian dollars or US dollars, or will I need to exchange for local currency? What is the minimum daily amount recommended for day to day expenses like food?
- Marina TravelOperator•Written May 2025
In Iceland, clients can conveniently use their cards virtually everywhere, so there's generally no need to carry cash. However, if they prefer to use cash, they'll need to exchange US dollars for Icelandic króna, as foreign currency isn't widely accepted. An estimated budget of $60–$80 per person should be sufficient for food and drink, though this can vary depending on dining preferences and restaurant choices.

Asked on May 4th, 2025Will this tour be in a good viewing spot of the eclipse on Aug 12?
- Marina TravelOperator•Written May 2025
The best location to view the eclipse in August 2026 will be from the Snæfellsnes Peninsula. However, please note that your current seat-in-coach group tour follows a set itinerary focused on various highlights each day. It is quite possible that the tour will not be in that area at the time of the eclipse, and even if it is, the group may visit a specific site that does not offer an optimal viewing opportunity. This tour is not specifically designed for eclipse observation. If your primary purpose for visiting Iceland is to experience the eclipse, we recommend either booking a private tour—at least for that day—or opting for a self-drive tour. This will give you the flexibility and time needed to be in the right location for the event. If you need any assistance with organizing such a tour, we would be happy to help and remain at your disposal. Accommodation in the Snæfellsnes Peninsula and the broader West Iceland region is already fully booked for the dates of August 11–13. If you wish to secure a spot in the area, we strongly advise confirming your travel arrangements as soon as possible.

Asked on April 18th, 2025Where are the lunch spots on this tour? I know it is not included. I just want to know if there are decent lunch places.
- Marina TravelOperator•Written April 2025
You're right—lunch isn't included in the tour, but there are definitely opportunities to grab something along the way. Most of the days on the itinerary include stops in towns or popular sightseeing areas where you'll find a range of decent lunch spots recommended by your guide: Local cafés, bakeries, and casual eateries are usually accessible.

Asked on December 2nd, 2024Can you tell us the time the tours depart each day? They have a health regimen that they need to follow in the morning before they leave the hotel.
- Marina TravelOperator•Written December 2024
The earliest departure time will be for the South Coast day tour starting at 7:30 AM. For the other days, the departures are scheduled to start at 8:00 AM for the Snaefelsness Peninsula day tour and 09:00 AM for the Golden Circle day tour. The Reykjavik city tour will be handled by the Hop on-Hop off City Sightseeing bus and they can choose their preferred starting time during the day.

Traveler•Written November 2024Is lunch and dinner difficult to find?
- Marina TravelOperator•Written November 2024
This particular tour is designed as a group experience with an easy to medium level of difficulty. The hikes and walks are generally short and on even terrain, with no heights involved. If at any point you feel that an activity may not be suitable for you, you are welcome to skip it and wait in a safe area or in the minibus while the rest of the group continues.
- Marina TravelOperator•Written November 2024
February and March are excellent months for viewing the Northern Lights, as the weather and aurora forecasts are often favorable, depending on cloud cover. Overall, this period offers the best chances for spotting the Aurora.
- Marina TravelOperator•Written November 2024
Iceland is well-known for being a welcoming destination for solo travelers. It's quite common to explore on your own, and our group tours provide a safe and friendly environment, with a driver-guide accompanying you throughout the journey, ensuring you never feel lonely or unsafe.
- Marina TravelOperator•Written November 2024
Our driver-guide will also provide recommendations for lunch and dinner, which are usually included in your itinerary. Lunch is often served along the way, while dinners are enjoyed at the hotels or nearby restaurants, with plenty of great options in Reykjavik.
