- Day 1
Hobart
You'll arrive in Hobart and have the afternoon to explore the capital at your own pace. The waterfront area has some great restaurants and wine bars if you're looking for lunch or an early dinner. There are galleries scattered around town worth checking out, and you can wander the scenic areas along the harbor. Later this evening, you'll join the rest of the group for a welcome dinner to meet your fellow travelers.

Hobart
Start the day at Mt. Nelson Lookout where you'll get panoramic views across Hobart and the surrounding area. From there, head to the historic Cascade Brewery to see how they operate and learn about Tasmania's brewing heritage. After that, walk through Battery Point with its colonial architecture and narrow streets. The Botanical Gardens are next, giving you time to stroll through the grounds. Later, you'll experience Salamanca Market with around 300 stalls selling artisan goods and local crafts, which creates quite an atmosphere.

Hobart to Strahan
Today takes you to Tasmania's wild west coast with some significant driving. You'll pass through Mt. Field National Park where a walk takes you to Russell Falls through the rainforest. Lake St. Clair comes next, offering glassy waters and reflections of surrounding peaks. You'll then travel through Franklin-Gordon Wild Rivers National Park, which is World Heritage listed and shows you some remote terrain. By evening, you'll reach Strahan, a coastal town that overlooks Macquarie Harbour.

Strahan to Cradle Mountain
The day centers on a cruise along the Gordon River, which is surrounded by ancient rainforest on both sides. You'll stop at Sarah Island to explore Tasmania's oldest convict settlement and walk through the historic ruins there. After that, you'll travel through remote mining towns set in rugged landscape as the route heads toward Cradle Mountain. The terrain shows you just how isolated some parts of Tasmania really are.

- Day 5
Cradle Mountain
You'll spend the day exploring Cradle Mountain's wilderness with its towering peaks and rainforests covered in moss. Head to Dove Lake where you might spot Bennetts wallabies and echidnas in their natural habitat. Waldheim Chalet is on the itinerary for some historical context about the area. In the afternoon, you get to choose what works best for you: tackle one of the scenic hiking trails, meet a Tasmanian Devil up close, or just relax by the fire and take in the mountain views.

Cradle Mountain to Launceston
The route takes you from the Central Highlands toward Tasmania's north-west coast. You'll stop at Penguin and Mount Gnomon Farm for a paddock-to-plate lunch using local produce, which gives you a real sense of what the region grows. Sheffield comes next, known as the 'Town of Murals' because of the street art throughout town. After passing through Meander Valley with its scenic valleys and farmland, you'll arrive in Launceston by evening.

The tour concludes this afternoon, so you'll have time for optional activities if interested, or you can explore Launceston's heritage architecture on your own before departing.
