- Day 1
Chiavari
You'll arrive in Chiavari, a refined coastal town on the Italian Riviera, meeting your tour leader and group members around 6pm. After settling in, there's a welcome dinner at your hotel to start things off.

Landmarks Chiavari - Day 2
Chiavari to Genoa
Head out on a 35-minute train ride to Genoa, the historic port city. A local guide takes you through the cathedral, grand palaces, and winding medieval streets. Next comes a hands-on pesto class at Palazzi dei Rolli palace where you'll learn traditional recipes and taste what you've made with focaccia and local white wine. The train back to Chiavari leaves you with free time to wander before the day ends.

- Day 3
Lavagna - Berissi Valley
A quick 3-minute train gets you to Lavagna for an easy hike through Berissi Valley with a local guide. Along the way, you'll see slate quarries, dry stone walls, and olive oil producers while learning about conservation from the Pietre Parlanti Association president. Lunch is packed and taken with views. Back at your hotel by afternoon, then at 5:30pm there's an orientation walk through Chiavari's historic center with wine, farinata, and snacks.

Chiavari
This day is yours to explore. Most people take the 50-minute train to Cinque Terre and visit the five historic fishing villages perched on the coast. If you'd rather explore something different, towns like Camogli, Santa Margherita Ligure, and Portofino are all nearby options worth considering.

- Day 5
Chiavari to Sestri Levante
You'll transfer to Sestri Levante to visit Azienda Vinicola Bisson, a winery with a unique underwater cellar 195 feet below sea level. After touring the facilities and tasting two wines with snacks, a chef teaches you how to make traditional Ligurian corzetti pasta and gnocchi using wooden molds and old recipes. Dinner includes your homemade pasta with pesto and walnut sauce, wine, and tiramisu before heading back to Chiavari by train.

Chiavari to Porto Venere to Palmaria Island
A 1-hour 30-minute bus ride takes you to Porto Venere, where a boat then carries you to Palmaria Island, home to just 50 residents and no cars. You'll walk 4 miles along the coast taking in military ruins and views of Cinque Terre, with packed lunch included. After returning to the mainland, a guide shows you around Porto Venere and leaves you with free time to explore. Back at the hotel for a farewell dinner.
