You'll make your own way to both the walking tour starting point and the boat.

Vienna
You've got the full day in Vienna with a 48-hour public transport pass covering the metro, trams, and buses. Consider visiting Schönbrunn Palace, Hofburg Imperial Palace, Belvedere Palace, or head up to Kahlenberg for panoramic views. You might also spend time at Albertinaplatz in the city center. There's no guide, so you explore whatever interests you most.

Today you'll take the train to Hallstatt, a mountain village perched on the edge of Hallstättersee lake with dramatic peaks behind it. The train transfer from Salzburg is included, and you'll arrange your own way to the station. Spend your time wandering the village before catching a train back to Salzburg for the night.

Salzburg to Munich
Your train tickets to Munich are included. You'll need to organize transport to the station from your Salzburg hotel and again from Munich's station to your hotel. Once settled, head into the Old Town (Altstadt) to see Marienplatz and the striking Neo-Gothic Neues Rathaus, which has a famous Glockenspiel that performs several times each day.
