Itinerary
- Day 1
Tuxtla Gutiérrez to San Cristóbal de las Casas
You'll arrive at Tuxtla Gutiérrez Airport and grab a shared transfer heading straight to Sumidero Canyon. If your flight gets in before 1 PM, there's time for a two-hour boat tour through the dramatic gorge carved by the River Grijalva where you'll spot crocodiles, monkeys, and various birds moving through the rainforest canopy. After that, you'll continue on to San Cristóbal de las Casas and check into your hotel for the night.

You'll return to San Cristóbal by early afternoon where you can relax at your hotel, or if you're interested, check out the baroque Santo Domingo church and Maya cultural markets that are nearby.

San Cristóbal de las Casas to Palenque
This is a travel day heading northeast toward Chiapas, so you'll have breakfast en route. The main stop is at the waterfalls where you can swim and soak in the natural pools with their bright blue water. Then you continue on to Palenque, arriving in the afternoon to check in at your hotel and settle in for the evening.

Palenque to Campeche
After breakfast, a guide will take you through the Palenque archaeological site, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with remarkable Mayan structures. You'll see the 23-metre Temple of Inscriptions, the Palace, Temple of the Count, and Temple of the Cross while learning about the excavations and what life was like in this ancient city-state. Later in the afternoon, you'll travel to Campeche and check into your hotel.

Uxmal - Mérida
You'll start with a walking tour of Campeche's historic colonial old town, checking out the city walls and St. Francis' Cathedral. Then it's on to Uxmal where a guide takes you through the UNESCO site featuring the 35-metre Pyramid of the Magician and the well-preserved Nunnery Quadrangle. By late afternoon, you'll reach Mérida for a panoramic tour of this white colonial city, driving past residential areas and down Montejo Avenue.

After breakfast, you're traveling into the Yucatán rainforests to explore Chichén Itzá, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. A guide will walk you through the geometrically perfect 25-metre Temple of Kukulkan (El Castillo), the Great Ball Court, Skull Platform, and Sacred Cenote. You'll have lunch at a local restaurant before heading to your hotel in Pisté for the night.

It's a comfortable and straightforward way to wrap up your tour before heading home.
