If you get there early, Cataract Gorge is nearby for a quick walk or check out some of the local museums and galleries around town. Your first walk happens at Humbug Point Conservation Area where you'll wander the coastline keeping an eye out for wallabies, echidnas, pied oystercatchers, and pelicans. By evening, you'll be checked into accommodation in St Helens for the next three nights, and there's a group dinner to close out the day.

Bay of Fires Walk
This morning you'll drive to Eddystone Lighthouse for views stretching along the Bay of Fires. From there, head to Deep Creek Campground where you'll walk along isolated white-powder beaches with turquoise water and rocky outcrops scattered about. Shorebirds are common here, and depending on tides, you might need to wade through Deep Creek barefoot, so bring a towel and extra pants just in case. After the walk, you'll head back to St Helens with a possible stop at a local winery on the way.

The walk here crosses white sand beaches dotted with fiery lichen boulders and crystal-clear water. It's the most challenging walk of the trip with loose pebbles and headlands to navigate, but your expert guides will be there the whole way. The route ends at The Gardens, then you'll return to accommodation for a hearty final dinner and a toast celebrating the trip.

St Helens to Blue Tier to Launceston
You'll head to the Blue Tier sub-alpine plateau for rainforest walks, and the difficulty you choose depends on how you're feeling. There's the easier 600-metre Goblin Forest walk if you want something lighter, which explores the area's tin-mining history. Or there's the more challenging Mount Michael loop track that climbs through mature rainforest to 800m elevation with spectacular views over St Helens and the east coast. Your guides will pick the best tracks based on weather and conditions. Late afternoon you'll drive back to Launceston where everything wraps up.
