San José to Puerto Viejo de Talamanca
An early morning local bus gets you from San José to Puerto Viejo de Talamanca on the Caribbean coast. Your CEO leads a quick orientation walk when you arrive, then the day is yours. Check out the beaches and take in the laid-back feel at your own pace. Free time to relax on the white and black sand beaches, grab food, or just enjoy the tropical atmosphere.

Puerto Viejo de Talamanca
Bike riding with your CEO takes you to beaches like Cocles, Punta Uva, and possibly Manzanillo, with stops along the way for drinks, swimming, and spotting local wildlife. The afternoon is free to chill at the hostel or explore solo. That evening, there's group hangout time in the common area with reggae and calypso, or hang with travel mates playing cards and talking.

Puerto Viejo de Talamanca to Bocas del Toro
Today you cross into Panama, traveling by bus, vehicle, and water taxi to reach Bocas del Toro archipelago. Your CEO takes you on a leisurely walk through town, pointing out main spots and talking about Afro-Caribbean culture, local music, and the guari-guari language. After that, you can explore at your own pace and soak up the island's laid-back feel.

Bocas del Toro
You have the entire day to yourself in Bocas del Toro. Paddleboard, kayak, or snorkel if you're feeling active. Maybe check out a bioluminescence tour later in the day. Or go the relaxation route and swim, lie in a hammock, or people-watch at a local café. The choice between adventure and mellow time is completely yours.

Bocas del Toro
Head to the famous Starfish Beach, where you'll see hundreds of starfish in shallow cove waters. Swim in the calm waters and take in the scenery. By afternoon you're back at the hostel with free time to either hang with friends for dinner and dancing, read by yourself, or try optional activities you might have skipped. There's an optional group dinner in the evening if you want to walk there together.

Bocas del Toro to Boquete
The journey to Boquete, a mountain town in the highlands, includes a stop at a local Ngäbe community to learn about chocolate-making traditions and the cultural meaning of cacao. You'll arrive in Boquete as evening comes in and settle at your accommodation. Optional dinner is available nearby with the group if you'd like.

Boquete
A full free day in Boquete surrounded by mountains and wooded valleys gives you lots of options. Hike to lost waterfalls, tackle Baru Volcano, do whitewater rafting, or ride horses. Coffee plantation tours, cloud forest hikes, and wildlife spotting are also available. Later, join the group for an optional walk to a nearby restaurant for dinner and share what you did.

Boquete
Another free day in Boquete means you can do activities you didn't get to yesterday. Grab a friend and join optional activities together. Take photos and videos, or push yourself out of your comfort zone in this adventure-focused place. The evening brings an optional group dinner at a local restaurant where you can talk about your day and swap stories.

- Day 10
Boquete to Valle de Antón
Travel from Boquete to Valle de Antón, a town sitting inside an inactive volcano crater. The landscape is lush and green with fertile land and lots of biodiversity. You'll arrive late afternoon, get settled, and might head out for dinner with the group to celebrate getting through the travel day.

Valle de Antón
You have a full free day in Valle de Antón for hiking, ziplining, cycling, or soaking in hot springs. If you want a real challenge, tackle the 30km Ruta de la Caldera or sections like El Gaital, which gets over 1,000 meters high. Rent bikes to explore town, visit hot springs for relaxation, or search for wildlife. An optional group dinner at a local spot happens in the evening.

Valle de Antón to Panama City
Sleep in if you want, then take a public bus to Panama City. It's a long ride so download podcasts and music for the journey. You'll arrive late afternoon and your CEO leads an orientation walk through Casco Viejo, Plaza de la Independencia, and Panama Cathedral. Spend the evening exploring more, biking the Amador Causeway, or relaxing before hitting the city's nightlife.
