- Steve· December 14th, 2024This was out first guided bus tour and probably our last. As this was our first trip to Ireland, everyone said do a bus tour since driving can be a challenge. While this was probably true, it was not the greatest experience. Some of the hotels left something to be desired. Once catered to family and kids with the kids running wild at midnight. Another had very small rooms. The same breakfast at every hotel. As for the tour, some of the destinations were amazing. But, too much time was spent going to their "preferred" shopping destinations which might have been better had we actually gotten some type of discount. We couldn't see the Rock of Cashel because of the bus, but drove by it. The bus itself was fairly new but there was something wrong with the A/C. It seemed that it was either on or off, no automatic settings. It would get real stuffy in the bus, then someone would yell to the driver (who was also the tour guide) and he would turn it on for a few minutes. The driver was very knowledgeable on Irish History and did not hesitate sharing his personal thoughts on things. Overall, wish we could have seen more sights and less shopping and visits to bars.Show moreTrip date: September 2024
- Laurence· June 12th, 2024We were pleased with the organisation of the trip, the itinerary was good, the hotels were comfortable, the bus was very good. We liked our experience in general. To improve: The hotels were most of the time off center, especially in Galway (3km from center), having to take a taxi or walk there after a day exploring not a ideal. I would consider a 3* hotel (not 4) and more in city center. Same for other places we visited. Too many stops to go SHOPPING, yes we want to support the economy but I found there were too many stops to buy sweaters, and small stuff. Day 5 we stopped twice! once at Moriarty (detour) then Brian de Staic jewlery where we had to return in the evening again because 2 people (out of 28) had bought something and needed to have it engraved. Would have been better to stop to walk a trail or the beach. The blarney castle: nice park but the stone...there was a 45mn wait to reach the top so not much time for visiting the rest, the manor on the property was closed by the time we arrived and it was another 10 euros to visit. So paying 17 euros for a garden is too much. The sheepdog demo on D6 is a good idea but the microphone of the handler was not working well and we could not hear very well what he was saying, and the dogs were not that trained (2 okay, 1 just a pup learning, the other not obeying), so the company should fix the microphone and have dogs who can do the job. The driver and tour guide, same person, John, was a very good driver and organizer, but not a good guide. He spoke non stop (exhausting after a while), to tell us the procedure to obtain a gun licence, to order a thatch roof (the city pays 85% of it, apply here etc), the meaning of a car licence plate...etc, some info was good but a lot of it was not relevant to tourists. Conclusion: more city center hotels, less shopping time, guide who is more selective on what to say and less pushy on giving him his tip as well as other guides.Show moreTrip date: May 2024

- AMr. John Kiley· June 14th, 2023Great trip. Our guide Frank was amazing and knowledgeable with lots of great insights. It would have been good if all the hotels had ac as it got very hot on the trip.Show moreTrip date: May 2023Review collected by CIE Tours

- AMr. Peter Anthony Perta· June 24th, 2023Our tour guide and driver (Leslie) was excellent. In addition to the information he provided for all of the sights and locations we visited, he provided excellent insight into the culture, history, and life in general for Ireland. He was the difference In making this tour an excellent tour.Show moreTrip date: May 2023Review collected by CIE Tours

- AElsa Marie Riley· June 28th, 2023Our driver/ tour guide was wonderful. He was interesting to listen to and made the ride on the coach more enjoyable. The hotels were all good. The location on two was far out from the city center, but for me that was ok since I had been to those cities before. The coach had 44 folks on it which made for a longer on and off process, a waste of time. Luckily it was a great group of folks that all got along.. I would recommend CIE tours, especially for a first timer or solo traveler.Show moreTrip date: April 2023Review collected by CIE Tours
- AJohn Dennis Mccrary· June 28th, 2023Excellent tour director and driver. Food was average. The Rose Hotel in Tralee placed us and several others in the group in a wheelchair accessible room and apparently couldn't put us in standard rooms. Enjoyed all the tourists sites and would highly recommend to others.Show moreTrip date: May 2023Review collected by CIE Tours
