- Day 1
Arrival in Buenos Aires
You'll land at Ezeiza International Airport and get a private transfer to your hotel in Buenos Aires. Check in and take the rest of the day to recover from your flight. It's a good chance to rest up before exploring the city.

Buenos Aires
After breakfast, you can choose how to see Buenos Aires. The classic city tour by minibus covers Plaza de Mayo, San Telmo, La Boca, Teatro Colón, Palermo, and Recoleta over about 3.5 hours, starting at 9:00 AM or 2:00 PM with hotel pickup included. Or go for the active bike tour if that appeals to you more. Both options depart from central hotels.

Buenos Aires
You've got the full day to explore Buenos Aires however you want. Wander back through neighborhoods you liked, find local cafés, hit up some shops, or take a short train ride out to Tigre Delta on the city's edge. Later in the evening, you'll head to Madero Tango in Puerto Madero for a tango show with dinner and drinks. Hotel transfers are included both ways, so you just need to be ready for pickup.

Buenos Aires to Puerto Iguazu
Have breakfast and check out of your hotel. You'll have free time during the day to do whatever you want around Buenos Aires. In the evening, make your way to Retiro Bus Station to catch the night bus heading to Puerto Iguazu.

Arrival in Puerto Iguazu
You'll arrive in Puerto Iguazu in the morning after the overnight bus. Transfer from the bus station to your hostel and check in. The rest of the day is yours to rest and explore at your own pace.
- Day 6
Iguazu Falls, Argentine Side
After an early breakfast, a pickup around 7:45 AM takes you into Iguazu National Park on the Argentine side for a full day. You'll walk three different circuits through 67,000 hectares of subtropical jungle. The Lower Circuit shows Two Sisters, Bossetti, and Hidden Falls. The Upper Circuit gives you panoramic views right over the waterfalls. Then there's the Devil's Throat where a 1,000-meter walkway leads to a platform directly above the massive cascade. You'll head back to your accommodation in late afternoon.

Iguazu Falls, Brazilian Side
Pick up around 7:45 AM for a half-day tour to the Brazilian side of Iguazu Falls. You'll walk scenic trails that face the entire waterfall system, pass by Floriano, Deodoro, and Benjamin falls, and reach a viewpoint overlooking Devil's Throat canyon. A panoramic elevator ride gives you sweeping final views before you return by early afternoon. There's an optional stop at a traditional Brazilian buffet restaurant on the way back.

Puerto Iguazu to Salta
Check out of your accommodation and transfer to Puerto Iguazu Bus Station for the early morning bus to Resistencia. This bus connects to a night bus heading to Salta City, so you'll be traveling most of the day.

Arrival in Salta
You'll arrive in Salta in the morning. Head to your accommodation and check in. Spend the day exploring the charming streets and colonial buildings around this city at your leisure.
- Day 10
Salta
After breakfast, take it easy after your bus journey. Walk around this beautiful colonial city and explore however you feel like. If you're interested, consider visiting a peña in the evening. These traditional folk music venues let you experience local culture and live music.

Quebrada de las Conchas and Cafayate Wine Region
Depart around 7:30-7:50 AM for a full-day trip south through Route 68, passing historic towns in Lerma Valley known for tobacco production. You'll enter the dramatic Quebrada de las Conchas with its wind and water-carved rock formations like Devil's Throat, the Amphitheater, the Monk, and the Castles. By mid-day you'll reach Cafayate in the Calchaquí Valleys for wine tasting at a local bodega featuring Torrontés white wine, plus time to explore the town square. On the return drive through the gorge, the afternoon light gives you a completely different perspective. The tour takes about 10 to 12 hours total.

Salta to San Pedro de Atacama
You'll depart Salta by bus at either 1:00 AM or 6:00 AM depending on the season and day. Arrival in San Pedro de Atacama comes either in the morning or evening. Find your way to San Pedro Backpackers hostel and check in.

San Pedro de Atacama
Take the day to relax and let your body adjust to the altitude in San Pedro de Atacama. Walk around town or book an optional guided tour like Moon Valley or an Astro Photography tour if that interests you.

El Tatio Geysers Sunrise Tour
Get ready for a pre-dawn pickup between 4:30 and 5:00 AM to visit one of the world's most spectacular geothermal fields. After about 1.5 hours driving through high-altitude Andes terrain, you'll reach El Tatio Geysers. Towering columns of steam greet the sunrise as you walk among steaming fumaroles, bubbling craters, and explosive geysers. Hot breakfast is served on-site while you take in the incredible landscape. On the return drive, stop briefly at the traditional high-altitude village of Machuca to see local life. You'll be back at your accommodation around midday.

Day 1
Your overland adventure starts with pickup between 6:30 and 7:00 AM. After border procedures at Chilean immigration at Hito Cajon, you'll transfer to a shared Jeep 4WD heading to Uyuni. The terrain gets higher and more remote, reaching 4,500 meters today with dramatic lagoons full of flamingoes, white-topped mountains and volcanoes, and vast altiplanic plains. Lunch happens at hot springs. Later you'll visit Sol de Mañana Geysers before arriving at Laguna Colorada where over 30,000 flamingoes nest. You'll sleep at a basic but clean family or communal hostel like Huaylajara or Villamar.

Day 2
After breakfast, continue deeper into the Altiplano through surreal landscapes toward the Uyuni Salt Flats. You'll cross the Siloli Desert with its bizarre wind-sculpted rock formations, stopping at the iconic Árbol de Piedra. Visit spectacular high-altitude lagoons called the Jewels of the Altiplano, including the stunning Laguna Negra with mirror-like dark waters reflecting surrounding cliffs. Lunch happens amidst these landscapes. In the afternoon, explore Anaconda Canyon with its snake-like river winding through the valley. By evening you'll arrive at your unique salt hotel built almost entirely from salt blocks, located on the edge of the vast Uyuni Salt Flats.

Uyuni Salt Flats and Journey to La Paz
This final overland day starts before dawn with a 4:00 to 5:00 AM departure into the heart of the Salar de Uyuni, the world's largest and highest salt flat. Weather permitting, watch the sunrise from the middle of this immense white desert with breakfast served right on the salt. Travel across the surreal landscape of hexagonal salt patterns, stopping at Isla Incahuasi, a rocky island covered in giant cacti. Hike to the top for 360-degree views and the famous perspective photos this place is known for. Around midday you'll leave the salt flats for lunch near Colchani village, then arrive in Uyuni town by 1:00 to 2:00 PM. Spend a free afternoon relaxing, having coffee, and charging your devices. Board an overnight bus to La Paz around 8:00 PM.

- Day 19
Tiwanaku Ruins Day Trip
Depart La Paz at 8:00 AM for a 1.5-hour drive across the high Andean plateau to Tiwanaku, a UNESCO World Heritage site. On a guided tour, you'll explore the ancient pre-Incan civilization's capital through its main archaeological complex with monumental stone gateways, temples, and mysterious monoliths. See the Kalasasaya temple, the Semi-Subterranean Temple with carved heads, and the famous Gateway of the Sun. Learn about this remarkably advanced civilization's knowledge of astronomy, mathematics, and engineering. You'll arrive back at your hotel or hostel around 4:00 PM.
