Itinerary
- Day 1
Launceston
You'll arrive in Launceston for a 6 pm welcome meeting. If your flight gets in early, there's time to walk through Cataract Gorge or check out the local museums beforehand. After the meeting wraps up, you'll head to a group dinner with the other travelers on the tour and toast to what's coming next.

Launceston to Swansea
The drive takes you to Freycinet National Park with great views over Coles Bay and the Hazards Range. You'll do a scenic circuit walk that takes you to the white sands of Wineglass Bay and Hazards Beach. After the walk, swimming is an option if you feel like it, then you'll drive to Swansea for a relaxed evening by the coast.

Swansea to Maria Island to Orford
A ferry gets you out to Maria Island where you'll spend the day hiking across coastal plains and through wildlife sanctuary trails. You'll walk to Fossil Cliffs to see shellfish fossils in the limestone, then head to the Painted Cliffs with their striking Triassic sandstone. While exploring Darlington township, keep an eye out for forester kangaroos, wombats, and Cape Barren geese. After the ferry ride back to the mainland, you'll drive to Orford for the night.

Orford to Port Arthur
Heading south toward Port Arthur, you'll take in coastal views the whole way. A wilderness cruise takes you beneath towering sea cliffs and rock faces, passing deep-sea caves and arches along the Tasman National Park coastline toward Cape Raoul. Watch for seals, dolphins, migrating whales, albatrosses, and sea eagles. Once back, you'll have time to explore Port Arthur and the peninsula on your own with some short walks available if you want them.

Port Arthur
This morning you'll walk a section of the Three Capes Track at Cape Raoul, starting through lush heath country before reaching the striking dolerite cliffs. Descending onto the Cape Raoul plateau gives you rewarding views of swirling seas, the northern coastline, and the distant Cape Pillar. After returning to the bus, you'll drive back to Port Arthur. Later, join the group and your leader for a farewell dinner where everyone swaps travel stories.

Port Arthur to Hobart
Your final walk is the Cape Hauy section of the Three Capes Track, where dolerite cliffs get more dramatic as you approach the promontory edge. You'll stop at vantage points to see The Lanterns, Mitre Rock, the Candlestick, and the iconic Totem Pole. From there, you'll drive to Hobart where your adventure ends. Extensions are available if you'd like to stay on longer.
