Panama City
You'll touch down in Panama City at your own pace, and a private transfer will take you to your hotel about 20 km from the airport. This gives you time to settle in and get ready for the week.

Panama City
Breakfast is on you this morning before heading out for a full day around Panama City. You'll see the Panama Canal up close and watch ships move through the locks, then walk the Amador Causeway for views of the skyline. After that, you'll check out Casco Viejo's colonial streets and squares where the old architecture really stands out.

Panama City
An early start gets you into the rainforest for a day trip to the Emberá community, about 60 km from the city. You'll see traditional dances and handmade crafts, then sit down for lunch with fresh fish and plantains cooked the local way. By afternoon you're heading back to Panama City.

Panama City to El Valle de Antón
A private transfer takes you away from Panama City toward the highlands and El Valle de Antón. You'll stop at Altos de Campana National Park first, where you can hike for about 2.5 hours through forests with views over to the Pacific. Then you'll continue to the village that sits inside an extinct volcano crater.

Watch for over 500 bird species like toucans and harpy eagles, plus monkeys and sloths. Later you'll take a boat on Lake Gatún, the man-made freshwater lake that feeds the canal's locks.

Panama City to Medellín

Medellín

Medellín to Armenia
You're traveling about 280 km through the Andes from Medellín to Armenia in the coffee region. Breakfast is included before you leave. Once there, you'll spend the afternoon relaxing on a rural finca surrounded by coffee plantations.

Salento - Armenia
You'll head out early to Cocora Valley in the Colombian Andes for a hike through towering wax palms that reach up to 60 meters high - the world's tallest palm trees. The landscape there is really something, with those massive palms creating this almost surreal backdrop as you walk through. After spending time hiking and taking in the valley, you'll drive to the nearby town of Salento where you'll tour a working coffee plantation and learn how they grow and process coffee beans in the Cafetero region. From there, it's about a 60 km drive back to Armenia by late afternoon.

Armenia to Popayán
Leaving the coffee region behind, you'll head south about 140 km to Popayán, known as the white city. Breakfast is included. The afternoon is yours to explore the colonial buildings with their white facades, check out the cathedral, and see the San Francisco church.

Popayán
Full day at Puracé National Park where the Puracé volcano often has mist around it. You'll hike through rare plant species and watch for birds including Andean condors. If you're lucky you might spot tapirs, spectacled bears or pumas. Breakfast and lunch are included, and you'll be back in Popayán by evening.

Villavieja
Breakfast is included before a guided hike through the Tatacoa Desert with its unusual rock formations and red canyons. You'll see colors of red, ochre and grey scattered throughout the landscape. Later you'll stay for stargazing, since the low light pollution here makes it one of Colombia's best spots for seeing the sky.

Villavieja to Bogotá
