Itinerary
- Day 1
Arrival in Ivalo
You'll land in Ivalo and get transferred to Aurora Village, which takes some time to settle in. First thing is getting your cold-weather gear sorted out properly since you'll need it. After dinner, your guide takes you out on a Northern Lights hunt, typically lasting 2 to 3 hours. The guide picks locations based on conditions and activity, and you'll have access to hot drinks and snacks throughout the evening to keep warm while you're waiting and watching the sky.

Landmarks Aurora Village Ivalo - Day 2
Snowmobile Safari and Cross-Country Skiing
This morning starts with a snowmobile run through the arctic forests and across frozen rivers for about 2 hours, including stops for photos along the route. After some time to catch your breath, you'll transition to cross-country skiing with a guide leading you through Lappish wilderness for another 2 hours or so. Your guide teaches the technique as you go, and this works well whether you've skied before or not.

Snowshoe Hiking, Reindeer Farm, and Reindeer Sleigh
You'll begin with a 2-hour snowshoe hike through forested trails, learning how Sámi people traditionally traveled using this method. From there, the route takes you to a reindeer farm where you can hand-feed the animals with lichen, and it's a good spot for photos. Later, you'll take a quiet 1 km reindeer sleigh ride through the snowy woods to wrap things up.

Husky Sled Safari
The day centers on a dog sled experience where a musher teaches you the ropes. You'll head to a husky farm first to meet the dogs, get instruction on what to expect, then drive through the winter landscape for roughly 2 hours. Two people share each sled, and about halfway through you'll stop for hot drinks and switch so everyone gets a chance to steer the team.

Departure from Ivalo
Time to head to Ivalo airport for your departure, or you can look into extending your time with an optional tour if you're interested. The drive to the airport takes approximately 20 minutes from where you're staying.
