    You'll arrive in Auckland and get transferred to your hotel for check-in. After settling in, the rest of the day is yours to relax and recover from your journey.

    Auckland

    Following breakfast, your guide meets you for a full Auckland city tour. You'll walk through Queen Street's shops and restaurants, check out the War Memorial Museum sitting on Pukekawa volcano, then head to Mission Bay and Bastion Point for waterfront views. From there, you'll see the Michael Joseph Savage Memorial overlooking the harbour before visiting the fashionable neighborhoods of Ponsonby and Parnell. The tour wraps up at Auckland Sky Tower's SkyDeck where you can take in 360-degree city views. Your afternoon is free if you want to do anything else.

Next comes the historic Old Saint Paul's Cathedral before you walk through the Wellington Botanic Gardens.     Christchurch

    Your half-day tour of Christchurch covers the city's iconic landmarks. Your guide talks about Christchurch's history and how the city has recovered since the 2011 earthquake.     Christchurch to Greymouth

    Your driver picks you up in the morning for transfer to the TranzAlpine train. You'll spend the full day on this panoramic train journey from Christchurch's east coast to Greymouth on the west coast. The train heads through the Canterbury Plains before climbing into the Southern Alps along the Waimakariri River valleys. You'll stop briefly at Arthur's Pass to take in the mountain scenery, then pass through the Otira Tunnel before descending through dense alpine rainforests to Greymouth. You'll have about an hour to explore the local culture there before boarding the train back to Christchurch.

Once there, you'll enjoy a 2-hour cruise along the fjord, passing dramatic cliffs, cascading waterfalls, and mirrored lakes while watching for fur seals and dolphins. Your guide provides information about the region's natural history and wildlife. Before heading back, you'll take a leisurely walk through a beech forest.
