Ho Chi Minh City
You'll arrive in Ho Chi Minh City, formerly Saigon, and meet up with your travel group. The evening is completely open, so you can wander around this historically rich city at your own pace and start getting familiar with the local atmosphere. It's a good chance to shake off travel fatigue and explore some of the neighborhoods on foot.

Ho Chi Minh City to Mekong River Delta
Head out from the city toward the Mekong River Delta on a traditional boat. You'll watch rice paper being made at a local factory, try Vietnam's well-known rice whiskey, and then sit down to a home-cooked meal with local musicians performing. After that, you'll settle into your homestay for the night.

Mekong River Delta to Ho Chi Minh City
After an early breakfast, you'll make your way back toward Ho Chi Minh City but stop at Cu Chi Tunnels on the way. You can walk through the extensive hand-dug tunnel system, see the traps and hidden doors, and climb down into the tunnels yourself. Back in the city by evening, you'll have free time to check out local restaurants and explore the streets.

Ho Chi Minh City to Nha Trang
Start with a walking tour of Ho Chi Minh City's main sights, then visit the War Remnants Museum to learn about Vietnam's war history. Later, you'll catch a flight to Nha Trang, a coastal town with golden beaches and clear waters facing the South China Sea. The afternoon is yours to explore at your leisure.

Nha Trang

Landmarks Nha Trang Beach - Day 6
Hoi An
You'll wake up in Hoi An after your overnight train ride. Bike around this charming town that blends Japanese, Chinese, Vietnamese, and European influences. Visit a 15th-century ancient house, order custom clothes at a local tailor, and spend time getting to know this UNESCO-listed port town. In the evening, there's an optional Vietnamese cooking class where you can prepare up to 4 traditional dishes.

Today you have the freedom to explore Hoi An at your own pace. Browse the galleries and market stalls, which are known as some of the best shopping around. Try local food specialties as you walk through town. For something memorable, you can ride in a traditional Vietnamese bamboo basket boat (you've probably seen photos of these online). Finish the day with fresh coconut water straight from the tree.

Hoi An to Hanoi (via Da Nang)
After a quick breakfast, you'll head to Da Nang to catch your flight to Hanoi. Once you arrive, go straight to KOTO Restaurant, a social enterprise that supports disadvantaged Vietnamese youth. From there, visit the Temple of Literature, Vietnam's first university, and the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum dedicated to the Vietnamese revolutionary leader. The evening is free for you to walk through Hanoi's busy streets and neighborhoods.

Hanoi to Ninh Binh
Travel to Ninh Binh, the heart of Vietnam's natural beauty. You'll ride in a legendary Vietnamese army jeep through the region and spend the afternoon enjoying the cool air and green landscapes all around you. Bring binoculars if you're interested in bird-watching. The scenery here is really something, with a peaceful environment throughout the day.

Ninh Binh to Halong Bay
Wake up early and climb 500 steps to reach Mua Cave summit for a sunrise view over the valley below. Later, you'll drive through beautiful scenery before boarding a traditional Chinese-style junk boat in Halong Bay. You'll drift through limestone islands, passing hidden lagoons and grottos. Stop at Ti Top Island and enjoy fresh seafood for dinner as the sun sets at your docking spot.

Ha Giang Loop to Dong Van
Start with breakfast at your homestay, then head out by van through the Ha Giang Loop. You'll pass through Heaven Gate, Twin Mountain, and Tham Ma slope while driving past lush green valleys. The route includes a stop at an ancient palace and time with H'mong linen weavers who still work using traditional methods. By evening you're back for local dinner with the group before turning in after a full day of driving and sightseeing.

After breakfast, you'll trek to Ma Pi Leng peak with a local guide along the Sky Path, passing through Hmong villages and cornfields with views of limestone cliffs stretching out around you. Once you've had lunch, there's a boat cruise through Tu San Canyon that takes you to your riverside campsite on the Nho Que river. The evening includes dinner and music with the group before you settle in for the night.

After lunch at a local spot, you'll head to Ha Giang and relax as you settle into your seat for the drive back to Ho Chi Mihn City. After your trip, say goodbye to your group and exchange contact info to plan future adventures together.
