Overnight Flight to Santiago
You'll fly overnight to Santiago and arrive in Chile's capital. A driver meets you at the airport and takes you to your hotel. The rest of the day is open, so you can either rest from travel or start wandering around the city if you have energy.

Santiago
This morning you walk through Santiago's historic center, checking out Plaza de Armas with its 18th-century cathedral and the post office from the 1800s. After that, you head up Santa Lucia Hill where the views of the city spread out below you, and on clear days you'll see the Andes peaks in the distance.

You'll take a day trip to Valparaiso, a port city with colorful neighborhoods built on hillsides that are protected by UNESCO. You see the La Sebastiana Museum, then drive to Casablanca Valley where you tour a winery, have lunch, and do a wine tasting right there among the vines.

Santiago to Mendoza
A flight takes you over the Andes and across into Argentina, landing in Mendoza. This relaxed city sits in the heart of Argentina's wine country with mountain landscapes surrounding it and plenty of local culture to explore.

You walk around Mendoza this morning, strolling down wide tree-lined streets and through open squares while taking in the laid-back atmosphere. By afternoon you have free time to find a spot outside and try malbec, the red wine this region is known for.

Maipu Valley

A morning flight brings you to Buenos Aires, Argentina's capital. The city has tango culture, grand European-style buildings, and a vibrant feel. You'll have the afternoon to start getting a sense of the place and its energy.

Buenos Aires
You spend the day walking through different neighborhoods of Buenos Aires, each with its own character. La Boca has bright colors, Recoleta feels formal and upscale, and San Telmo has culture and history. By evening you go to a tango show that includes dinner and live performance.

Buenos Aires - Pampas Estancia
You travel to the pampas, the wide grasslands of Argentina, to spend time at an estancia which is a traditional ranch. Here you experience life like a gaucho, Argentina's version of a cowboy. There's an asado (grilled meat) lunch and a folklore show in the afternoon.

Buenos Aires to Iguazu Falls
You fly northeast to the border between Argentina and Brazil where Iguazu Falls is located. This is one of the world's most powerful waterfall systems and you'll experience it from the Argentine side first.

Iguazu Falls - Argentina Side - Mbororé Aldea
Starting on the Argentine side, you walk through rainforest to reach viewing platforms where the falls are visible. The sound gets louder as you get closer and you'll probably see wildlife along the way. Later you visit a Mbororé community village where local people share their culture and traditional stories.

You cross into Brazil this morning to see the falls from the Brazilian side, which gives a different view. After that, you catch a flight to Rio de Janeiro. You arrive in time to watch the sun set over Copacabana Beach.

Rio de Janeiro
You start at the base of Corcovado Mountain and take a cog railway up to the Christ the Redeemer statue where you get views of the whole city below. After lunch you do a city tour and then ride a cable car up Sugarloaf Mountain for views of Rio's beaches, bays, and the hills surrounding everything.
