  1. Day 1

    Kathmandu to Syabrubesi

    You'll start with a 7-8 hour public bus ride from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi, covering about 80 kilometers. The journey takes you through rivers, waterfalls, and mountain landscapes as you leave urban Kathmandu behind. By the time you arrive, you're already in the peaceful Langtang region. Check into your hotel, have dinner, and settle in for the night.

  2. Day 1

    Kathmandu to Syabrubesi

    Syabrubesi to Lama Hotel

    Today you trek for about 5-6 hours from Syabrubesi to Lama Hotel. You'll cross the Bhote Koshi River and pass through Bamboo at 2200m/7218ft and then Rimche at 2485m/8153ft. The trail takes you through lush forests with rhododendron blooms and occasional wildlife sightings. Lama Hotel sits at 2480m/8136ft, and you'll reach it by evening for dinner and overnight.

You'll stop for lunch, then continue through alpine meadows and past temporary herder settlements. By late afternoon you reach Langtang Village at 3430m/11253ft, a place that was significantly damaged in the 2015 earthquake.

    After breakfast you trek for 4-5 hours from Langtang Village toward Kyanjin Gompa at 3870m/12697ft. The route passes Chortens, prayer flags, Mani walls, and other Buddhist religious sites as you climb higher. Mountain and landscape views get better with each hour. When you arrive at Kyanjin Gompa, you'll feel the religious atmosphere and have time to interact with locals and explore.

    Now you begin descending from Kyanjin Gompa at 3830m/12566ft down to Lama Hotel at 2470m/8103ft. This is a significant drop in altitude over one day. The descent moves faster than the ascent did, but you'll spend the full day trekking downhill through mountain terrain. Your legs will feel the drop in elevation by the time you reach Lama Hotel.

    Kyanjin Gompa to Lama Hotel

  • Payment information
    • For any tour departing before February 3rd, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after February 3rd, 2026, a minimum payment of 20% is required to confirm your booking with Adventure Bound. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 60 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
