Itinerary
- Day 1
Marrakech to Casablanca
Start the drive north from Marrakech to Casablanca on the modern highway, taking a few hours to reach the coast. Once there, head straight to Hassan II Mosque, which sits right on the Atlantic and is one of the largest mosques in the world. You'll get to see the architecture and the ocean views. Later in the afternoon, take an evening stroll along the Corniche where locals walk and relax by the water. After that, settle into your riad for the night.

- Day 2
Rabat - Chefchaouen
Drive from Casablanca to Rabat, about an hour away, to tour Morocco's capital. Walk through the Royal Palace gates and see the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, then check out Hassan Tower nearby. From there, continue on to Chefchaouen in the Rif Mountains, which takes a couple of hours. You'll arrive in this blue-painted town and wander through the winding alleys, taking in the views from higher points. Try some local food at your riad for dinner.

- Day 3
Volubilis - Meknes - Fes
Drive through olive groves heading toward Volubilis, Morocco's best-preserved Roman site. Spend time walking through the ruins to see the mosaics and ancient pillars scattered across the grounds. Then head to Meknes to walk through Bab Mansour gate and El Hedim Square, getting a feel for the city's older areas. By late afternoon, continue to Fes and check into a traditional riad inside the medina for the night.

- Day 4
Fes
Join a guided walking tour through Fes's medina early in the day with your guide leading the way through the narrow streets. Stop at Al Quaraouiyine University, one of the oldest universities in the world, then move on to see the colorful tanneries where leather gets dyed. Walk through the bustling souks and take time at Bou Inania Madrasa to look at the detailed tilework. Head up to the southern fort for sweeping views over the entire medina. Before heading back to your riad, meet some local artisans working on their crafts.

Fes to Merzouga
Travel through the Middle Atlas Mountains, first stopping in Ifrane, a mountain town known for its European-style architecture. Later, reach the cedar forests near Azrou where you can get out and feed the Barbary monkeys roaming freely. Continue driving through Midelt and into the Ziz Valley, where you'll see palm-filled oases dotting the landscape. By evening, arrive in Merzouga and relax at your desert lodge, preparing yourself mentally for the next day in the Sahara.

- Day 6
Sahara Desert
Start with a 4x4 adventure across Erg Chebbi's sand dunes in the early morning, driving and stopping at various high points. Visit a nomadic family's tent for tea and conversation about their way of life. Later, head to Khamlia village to hear Gnaoua music performed by local musicians. Mount a camel in the late afternoon for a sunset ride across the dunes toward your luxury desert camp. Spend the evening around a campfire with Berber music and traditional food, then sleep in a tent under the stars.

After breakfast and watching the sunrise from the dunes, pack up and head toward Todra Gorge, where massive rock walls rise up on both sides. Take a refreshing walk along the river flowing through the gorge. Then drive to Dades Valley to see the unique 'Monkey Fingers' rock formations and count the many kasbahs scattered throughout. Check into your cozy mountain riad for the night.

- Day 8
Dades Valley to Marrakech
Drive through the Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs and the Rose Valley, making stops to photograph the scenery. Visit Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO-listed kasbah that looks like something from a movie, and walk through the old structures. Cross the High Atlas by driving over the Tizi n'Tichka Pass, stopping along the way for photos of the mountain views. By early evening, arrive back in Marrakech and get dropped at your hotel or the airport to end the tour.
