Itinerary
- Day 1
Marrakesh
You'll be picked up at Menara Airport or from your hotel in Marrakesh and transferred to your accommodation. Get settled in for the evening, and you can rest up before things get going tomorrow morning.
- Day 2
Atlas Mountains - Dades Valley
After breakfast, the drive through the Atlas Mountains starts via Tizi N Tichka Pass, stopping at Berber villages and the 17th-century kasbah in Telouet. From there you'll continue to Ouarzazate to see the UNESCO-protected Ait ben Haddou kasbah and Kasbah Taourirt. Later in Skoura, check out the 18th-century Kasbah of Ameridhil, then visit the rose valley in Kalaat Mgouna before reaching Dades Valley to explore Berber villages and rock formations like 'the monkey toes'. You'll catch the sunset at Dads Gorges to wrap up the day.

Todgha Gorges - Merzouga
After breakfast at the riad, head to Todgha Gorges where you'll have time to take in the views of Berber villages and walk under the 300m-high cliffs. From there, travel through Tinjdad, Erfoud, and Er-Rissani with Sahara oasis scenery along the way. You'll arrive in Merzouga in the afternoon for mint tea, then take a camel ride into the Sahara Desert to your camp (your luggage goes by car). If you prefer not to ride, there's a car option instead.

Fes
Leaving Merzouga via Rissani, visit the local souk market, then move through Ziz Valley's palm trees toward Errachidia. Cross through Ziz Gorges and the Middle Atlas Mountains, stopping in Midelt for lunch. Later you'll pass through the cedar forest of Azrou where you can photograph Barbary monkeys, then see Ifrane with its European-style buildings before arriving in Fes by afternoon. Check into your riad for the night.

Fes
After breakfast, spend your day walking through Fes's alleys and small streets, Morocco's oldest city. Start at the Royal Palace gate and the Mellah, the Jewish quarter built in the 14th century. Visit Al Qaraouine University (the oldest in the world), the Tanneries, and the Moulay Idriss mausoleum. After lunch, check out the tiles cooperative and take in the panoramic view over the entire Medina. You'll stay at the same riad again tonight.

Meknes - Volubilis - Chefchaouen
Leave early after breakfast heading to Meknes with views of the Medina. Tour the 17th-century city walls and monumental gates like Berdaine Bab and Bab Khemis, then see the stables and stud. Visit the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, historically the only mosque non-Muslims could visit in Morocco, then exit through Bab Mansour El onto Hedim square. Continue to the ancient Roman ruins at Volubilis to explore 2000-year-old remains before heading to Chefchaouen, the blue city, for the night.

Tetouan - Tanger
After breakfast, you'll have free time until 12:30 PM to walk around Chefchaouen on your own. Then pass through Tetouan and its hillside houses, drive through the green Rif Mountains, and head to Tanger for overnight.

Rabat - Casablanca
After breakfast, spend the day exploring Tanger by 4x4 and on foot, visiting Cap Spartel, the Palace of the Sultan, the Necropolis, and the Caves of Hercules. You'll have free time in Asilah to pick up souvenirs on its colorful streets, then drive to Rabat to see the Kasbah of the Udayas and Hassan II Tower with its three pink facades and one gray (from sea breeze damage). Visit the Mohamed V Mausoleum and the old mosque remains, arriving in Casablanca late afternoon for dinner and overnight.

Essaouira
In the morning, visit the Hassan II Mosque, Casablanca's biggest. Then travel toward Essaouira, the coastal city known for windsurfing April through November. See the fortified medina, art galleries, and boutiques, watch the fishing nets and traditional boats at the port, and experience the city's cultural mix. You'll stay overnight in Essaouira.

Marrakesh
After breakfast, leave the coast for Marrakesh with photo stops along the way and the High Atlas Mountains as a backdrop. Explore the Majorelle Gardens, Koutoubia Tower, Saadian Tombs, and Bahia Palace. After lunch near the square, walk through the souks to browse hundreds of handicrafts. Transfer to your hotel or airport depending on your flight schedule (either Marrakesh or Casablanca airport).
