Itinerary
- Day 1
Bangui to Lobaye
You'll leave Bangui early in the morning, driving south through farmland and villages where you'll see how people live in the region. The route takes you through rainforest before reaching the BaAka forest settlement in the Lobaye region near the Congo border. When you arrive, the community greets you with a traditional forest blessing dance. You'll help set up camp and then spend the evening sharing food and music while getting to know your hosts.

- Day 2
Lobaye
After forest breakfast, you'll join BaAka men and women for a net hunting demonstration that shows how they've hunted for generations without lethal methods. They'll teach you about forest food sources, traditional tools, and medicinal plants. Later you'll forage together for mushrooms, wild roots, honey, and vines before heading back to camp. You'll help prepare a traditional meal over an open fire, watch elders make fire using natural materials, and end with storytelling in the BaAka language translated by your guide.

Women demonstrate their unique throat singing, drumming, and call-and-response harmonies while men play forest percussion instruments made from logs, vines, and gourds. You'll participate in group music-making guided by forest rhythms. By evening, you'll witness an ancient forest ceremonial piece that's rarely performed for visitors.

Then you'll take part in a forest dance session complete with costumes and body painting, experiencing storytelling through movement. Before sunset, your hosts give you a handmade memento. You'll gather one last time around the fire for music, laughter, and farewells.

After breakfast, you'll pack up camp and say goodbye to your BaAka hosts with hugs and forest songs. The drive back to Bangui includes stops at villages and roadside markets along the way. Once you arrive in the city, you'll have a quiet lunch before heading to your hotel or airport for drop-off.
