Alberta
You'll arrive in Alberta today, and since arrival times vary throughout the day, there's no sightseeing scheduled. Later this evening, you'll gather for a welcome briefing to kick things off.
- Day 2
Alberta to Waterton Lakes National Park
The day starts heading south through prairie lands with the Canadian Rockies visible in the distance. You'll stop at Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump, a UNESCO World Heritage site with over 5,500 years of history, where a Blackfoot guide shares stories about the Plains people and buffalo hunts. From there, continue to Waterton Lakes National Park, passing through villages and watching for grizzly bears, black bears, mountain goats, cougars, wolves, moose, and elk. The Prince of Wales Hotel comes into view along the way. Dinner this evening overlooks Waterton Lake.

Glacier National Park
Glacier National Park opens up today with over one million acres of forests, Alpine meadows, and lakes to explore. You'll ride in one of the famous vintage Jammer cars from the 1930s along the Going-to-the-Sun Road, which stretches across the Continental Divide and offers incredible views of the valley and park throughout the drive.

Glacier National Park to Banff
A relaxing drive takes you to Banff with wildlife and the Canadian Rockies as your backdrop. By afternoon, you'll arrive and stop at Bow Falls and Surprise Corner, where you can take in the panoramic views of the area.

Icefields Parkway and Banff
Today follows the Icefields Parkway with waterfalls, rushing rivers, glacial peaks, and snowcapped ranges all around you. At the Athabasca Glacier, you choose your adventure: ride across the glacial ice nearly 1,000 feet thick or take the glass-bottom platform at the Columbia Icefield Skywalk for views down into the Sunwapta Valley. Later in the afternoon, stop at Peyto Lake, a glacier-fed lake with turquoise water. Watch for bears and elk on the return to Banff.

Lake Louise to Calgary
This morning at Lake Louise, you can hike along the lakeshore or simply relax surrounded by the glacier-fed turquoise water. Lunch happens at the Ski Lake Louise Lodge before you board the gondola, which takes fourteen minutes to reach 6,850 feet above sea level. Later you'll head to Calgary and join other travelers at Heritage Park for a farewell dinner.
