Drake Passage to South Shetland Islands

The ship sails through the Drake Passage, where you'll encounter rough waters and strong westerly winds, though the vessel's X-Bow design keeps things stable. The Expedition Leader gives safety talks and prepares you for Antarctica. By day three, you'll cross the Antarctic Convergence where it gets noticeably colder and you start seeing petrels, albatrosses, and possibly penguins and whales. Weather permitting, you'll land on the South Shetland Islands that afternoon.

Zodiac cruises take you around the glaciated islands. Between excursions, there are onboard lectures, spa treatments, and lounges where you can relax. Exact stops depend on weather and ice.

The itinerary was amazing. We had perfect weather and were able to get out on the zodiacs or land twice a day when we were near land. We even had a landing on an iceberg
