    You'll be met at the airport and taken to your ship, the Heritage Adventurer. Get settled into your cabin and then join the other passengers for a relaxed dinner on board to start getting to know everyone.

  2. Day 2

    Koolama Bay

    The ship arrives in Koolama Bay where you'll board a Zodiac for a cruise along the King George River. The landscape here features towering red cliffs and thick mangrove forests, and you'll get a close look at King George Falls as it drops 80 metres down from the sandstone cliffs.

    Vansittart Bay

    Today takes you to Vansittart Bay. You'll land and walk across the salt flats to see the remains of a US Air Force C-53 plane that crashed here back in 1942 during World War II, along with other notable sights in the area.

    Ashmore Reef Marine Park

    You arrive at Ashmore Reef Marine Park for a Zodiac tour through a major seabird breeding ground where roughly 100,000 birds nest each year. The tropical waters here support 255 species of reef-building coral and plenty of other marine life to spot.

    Swift Bay

    Swift Bay's complex network of islands, inlets and peninsulas opens up for exploration today. You'll see ancient Wandjina and Gwion Gwion rock art in caves right near the water, with some artworks dating back 5,000 to 13,000 years. A helicopter flight over Mitchell Falls is available if you want to pay extra.

    Prince Frederick Harbour

    Prince Frederick Harbour brings lush mangrove ecosystems and impressive red sandstone cliffs. Keep an eye out for saltwater crocodiles, mudskippers, kingfishers and white-bellied sea eagles. Later you'll board a Zodiac to explore the Hunter River and Naturalists Island.

    Doubtful Bay

    Two special experiences pack this day. First, you'll cruise Montgomery Reef on a Zodiac as it rises dramatically from the ocean during strong tides, navigating through narrow channels. In the afternoon, you'll cruise Doubtful Bay looking for whales, then visit Freshwater Cove where a local Aboriginal guide shows you through an ancient Wandjina rock art site.

The highlight is seeing the Horizontal Falls, an incredible phenomenon created by the bay's 12-metre tides forcing water through a narrow gorge gap. You'll also explore Cyclone Creek and watch for wildlife near dramatic rock formations.
