Itinerary
- Day 1
Ho Chi Minh City to My Tho
You'll arrive in Ho Chi Minh City where fast track service gets you through immigration and customs quickly. Your APT representative will meet you and take you to the hotel for ship registration. In the afternoon, you'll head to My Tho and board the Mekong Serenity. After settling in, there's a Vietnamese welcome dinner served on board as you sail toward Cai Be.

- Day 2
Cai Be to Sa Dec to Tan Chai
Start the morning on a traditional sampan exploring the Mekong's waterways. You'll see the French gothic Cai Be Church and walk through the colorful port area with colonial buildings. Stop at local manufacturers to watch how rice paper and coconut candy are made. Back on the ship for lunch, you'll cruise to Sa Dec. There, you can wander the market on foot, visit the former home of Huynh Thuy Le from 'The Lover', and check out a traditional Cao Dai temple before sailing toward Tan Chai for dinner.

Tan Chau to Tan Chai
Take a small boat through the tiny tributaries around Tan Chau, then hop on a rickshaw tour and visit a local rattan weaving workshop. You'll explore Evergreen Island to see how people live in rural Mekong communities. Spend your afternoon relaxing on board while the Mekong Serenity cruises toward the Cambodian border.

Phnom Penh
This morning you'll choose your freedom of choice activity. After that, the day is yours to do as you like. You can explore Phnom Penh on your own or stay on the ship and unwind.

Oudong to Oknha Tey
Travel to Oudong, Cambodia's former royal capital, and participate in a Buddhist blessing ceremony with resident monks. You'll return through Koh Chen village to see local copperware workshops. Later, cruise to Oknha Tey where you can explore stilt houses and watch village women work traditional silk looms.

Angkor Ban to Wat Hanchey
Sail to Angkor Ban and walk through this historic village. It's one of the few Cambodian villages that stayed untouched during the Khmer Rouge period in the 1970s. You'll see traditional wooden homes and experience cultural traditions locals have kept alive. In the afternoon, continue sailing upstream to Wat Hanchey.

Wat Hanchey to Koh Pen
If you're up for it, walk to the hilltop pagoda at Wat Hanchey for views across the Mekong. You can visit temples, pagodas and stupas dating back to the eighth century and beyond. Have lunch on board, then take a tuk tuk around Koh Pen to see village life, stilted houses and crops. Celebrate tonight with a farewell dinner on the ship.

You'll disembark early at Kampong Cham and travel to Siem Reap, the gateway to Angkor Wat. Along the way, you'll pass through countryside and remote villages. After arriving at your hotel, there's a light lunch and time to rest. Later, choose between visiting ODA for English and computer education programs for kids, or catching a circus show with Cambodian acrobatics and culture.

Siem Reap
Get up early to see the sunrise at Angkor Wat, the world's largest religious monument. Watch it shimmer in the reflecting ponds as the sun comes up. Afterward, take a guided tour inside the temple complex, then return for late breakfast. In the morning you'll explore Angkor Thom with its Hindu and Buddhist monuments, the Bayon temple with carved smiling faces, and the Terrace of Elephants. Later, see Ta Prohm with its jungle vines. For dinner tonight, pick from five freedom of choice restaurant options.
