Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    San José to Rincón de la Vieja Volcano National Park

    Your driver picks you up at Daniel Oduber International Airport in Liberia and heads toward Rincón de la Vieja Volcano National Park. Depending on when you land, there's a good chance to grab traditional Costa Rican lunch and coffee at a local spot along the route. Once you arrive at your accommodation, you'll have time to settle in and relax while taking in views of the foothills. If the timing works out, you might catch the sunset from your room or the grounds.

  2. Day 2

    Rincón de la Vieja - Guayabo

    This cycling day takes you through the mountains heading toward Guayabo at the Miravalles Slopes. Starting from your hotel, you'll ride along the foothills of Rincón de la Vieja Volcano. There's a special stop at Santa María Lodge where you'll get hands-on with traditional Costa Rican cooking, learning how meals get prepared over a wood fire and tasting authentic picadillo de papa.

    Guayabo - Bijagua

    You'll cycle through some of the best routes on this trip, riding along the foothills of Miravalles Volcano. The landscape shows you rural northern Costa Rica with its agriculture and cattle ranching. During the ride you'll get a viewpoint of Lake Nicaragua, that massive freshwater lake shared with Nicaragua. Your day finishes in Bijagua, a rural town in the Tenorio slopes.

    Bijagua - Río Celeste

    This route gives you direct contact with Costa Rica's rural life as you cycle through small, traditional villages that really reflect the region's character. You'll pass through different agricultural areas, ending at the foothills of Tenorio Volcano near Tenorio National Park and the village of Río Celeste. The route takes you past Costa Rica's largest lake, so you're seeing both the countryside and natural attractions.

This day really shows what makes Arenal Volcano and Costa Rica's wildlife special.

The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 60 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
