After you've done your morning activity and grabbed lunch back on the ship, you'll cruise down to Regua.     Vega de Terrón

    You'll wake up in Vega de Terrón, a small border village right where the Douro and Águeda rivers meet. For the full day, you choose between a guided tour of Salamanca covering its two historic cathedrals and the local market, or you can go to Freixo de Espada à Cinta instead. That village is known for traditional handcrafted silk, and you'll visit the silk museum plus a local estate where you can do a regional tasting. Either way, it's a chance to see something different from the main cruise route.

    Starting in Pocinho, you'll be at the location of the historic Douro Railway terminus from 1887. Your morning choice is between the Côa Valley Museum, which is one of Portugal's larger museums and has Paleolithic rock art, or heading to Freixo Numão to see village life. At that village, you'll visit Casa Painova estate where they show you how they make traditional sugared almonds. By afternoon, the ship cruises to Pinh"ao, so you'll have that transit time to settle in before arrival." }
