Guatemala City to Antigua
You'll land at La Aurora International Airport in Guatemala City and connect with your driver guide. From there, it's a comfortable 50-minute private car ride to Antigua, where you'll check into your hotel in this historic town.

Antigua
After breakfast, you'll walk through Antigua with your driver guide and stop at the iconic Santa Catalina Arch, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that frames the Agua Volcano nicely. Later in the afternoon, head to San Antonio Aguas Calientes to see traditional Kaqchikel Mayan weavers making hand-woven fabrics before returning to your hotel.

Antigua to Panajachel
Start the day exploring the Iximche archaeological site, where you'll see plazas, pyramid-temples, palaces, and a ball court. Then you're driving to Chichicastenango Market, Central America's largest, and climbing a flower-lined staircase to reach the Church of Santo Tomas. After that, it's a scenic 1.5-hour drive to Panajachel, your base for Lake Atitlan surrounded by three volcanoes.

Lake Atitlan to Guatemala City
Begin with a boat trip on Lake Atitlan, then you'll disembark to visit two Tz'utujil Mayan villages. You'll check out a textile cooperative and head to Santiago Atitlan to see oil painting galleries showing market and highland life, plus a traditional Mayan-Catholic church. By boat back to Panajachel for lunch (on your own), then a 2.5-hour drive back to Guatemala City.

Guatemala to Ataco, El Salvador
You're crossing into El Salvador (about 3 hours) and arriving in Ataco. After settling in, you'll explore the Flower Route in the afternoon, moving through Concepcion de Ataco, Apaneca, Juayua, and Nahuizalco. Along the way, you'll see coffee plantations, traditional handicrafts, and Pipil culture. Ataco itself stands out for its colorful street murals before you head back to your hotel.

El Salvador Volcanoes and Archaeology
You're driving 1.5 hours to Cerro Verde National Park to hike Santa Ana Volcano before 11 am. The hike takes 3 to 4 hours and includes jungle walking and a challenging climb over barren volcanic terrain. Later, you'll visit Joya de Ceren Archaeological Park to see a pre-Columbian Mayan farming village with pots, spindle whorls, sleeping mats, and obsidian tools in the museum. Then you're driving back to San Salvador.

San Salvador and Suchitoto
You'll check out San Salvador starting at Plaza Libertad to see the brutalist Iglesia El Rosario. Next stop is Plaza Barrios with its central statue, the National Palace, and modern National Library. From there, head to Plaza Morazan to see the neo-classical National Theater. You'll drive 1.5 hours to Suchitoto to visit Iglesia Santa Lucia and the house of Alejandro Coto, then return to your hotel.
