- Day 1
Bogotá
You'll arrive in Bogotá and settle into Colombia's capital city set high in the Andes. The day takes you through La Candelaria, where colonial streets are lined with murals and historic buildings that tell the city's story. You'll check out the Gold Museum and the Botero Museum to see impressive art collections, then spend time trying local food and wandering through neighborhoods where the city's energy really shows. This gives you a feel for Bogotá's character and gets you oriented before heading into the countryside tomorrow.

Bogotá to Guatavita Lagoon
Early this morning you'll head north of Bogotá toward Guatavita Lagoon, which sits above 3,000 meters elevation. The hike takes you through thick high-Andean forest, and as you get closer to the lagoon the air gets thinner and the views open up. At the lagoon itself you'll learn about the Legend of El Dorado and the sacred significance this place held for the Muisca people. The village of Guatavita near the lagoon is small and charming, and then you'll drive back to Bogotá by evening, your legs a bit tired but with something memorable to reflect on.

Bogotá
Today you're out on a guided wildlife tour through protected land where you'll see native species across several hours. Colorful birds move through the canopy while larger animals like mammals appear if you're patient and quiet. The focus here is learning how conservation work actually happens and why protecting these ecosystems matters for the region's future. You'll have time to photograph and observe, and guides explain what you're seeing and why each species plays a role in the forest.

- Day 4
Leticia to Puerto Nariño
You'll fly into Leticia and transfer to a motorboat that takes you to a floating house where lunch waits with Amazon River views surrounding you completely. After that, you head to Victoria Regia Nature Reserve to see the giant lotus plants from high bridges built specifically so you don't disrupt the water below. Later in the afternoon, boats take you to Puerto Nariño where you'll check into your hotel and rest a bit. At dusk you'll get back on a boat for a traditional ride on the Loretoyacu River looking for pink and grey dolphins as the jungle darkens and the sun drops behind the trees.

Puerto Nariño
After breakfast, traditional boats take you through the Loretoyacu, Amazonas, and Amacayacu Rivers to reach the Tikuna community of San Martín. You'll walk through their community garden and pharmacy to see how they live and work day to day, then visit a traditional Maloca structure and hear about their customs directly. Later you'll have a meal cooked by an Indigenous family in Mocagua, eating food prepared the way they do. Before heading back to Puerto Nariño for dinner and the night, you'll visit the Maikuchiga Foundation where people work to protect primates living in the area.

Puerto Nariño to Bogotá
After breakfast this morning, you'll board a motorboat heading back to Leticia. Once there, you'll transfer to the airport for your included flight back to Bogotá, leaving the rainforest and river life behind as you travel back to the highlands.

Bogotá
Your time in Colombia wraps up with a transfer to Bogotá airport for your departure flight. On the drive there you'll catch final views of the city one more time before heading to the terminal. Just make sure you're ready when your pickup arrives at the scheduled time so you don't miss your flight.
