  1. Day 1

    Bangkok

    Your flight lands at Suvarnabhumi International Airport where your Trip Leader meets you for the drive to your hotel along the Chao Phraya River. After settling in and freshening up from your journey, you can either relax at the hotel or head over to Wang Lang Market if you're feeling up for it. The day wraps up with an opening Thai dinner on the riverbanks where you'll meet the rest of your group.

  2. Day 2

    Bangkok

    Grab breakfast at the hotel, then take a ferry across the Chao Phraya River to visit the Grand Palace and Wat Pho, where you'll see the 46-meter gold-plated Reclining Buddha. From there, the afternoon is yours to explore Old Bangkok at your own pace. You might check out Pak Khlong Talat Flower Market, take a long-tail boat through the canals, or just wander around the alleyways and see what catches your eye. Later, sit down to a family-style curry dinner at a local restaurant with your group.

    Bangkok to Ayutthaya

    After hotel breakfast while watching the river activity, you'll drive north by highway to Ayutthaya, the ancient capital of Siam. Explore the archaeological ruins of temples and royal compounds on foot and by bicycle, including the famous Buddha head surrounded by tree roots at Wat Mahathat. Stop for lunch of traditional boat noodles, visit Wat Ratchaburana, then check into a local guesthouse to rest. In the evening, spend time at the night market before boarding an overnight train to Chiang Mai around 11 p.m.

  4. Day 4

    Chiang Mai

    Your train arrives in Chiang Mai in the morning. Start with breakfast of Khao Soi, the smokey coconut curry dish with Chinese-Muslim influences that the city is known for. After checking into your hotel in the historic Old Town, you can either take advantage of optional activities with your Trip Leader or explore on your own. Later, head up to the mountaintop temple of Doi Suthep by local songthaew and watch the sunset while monks chant evening prayers. The day ends with a group dinner where you'll reflect on everything so far.

Enjoy a picnic lunch of papaya salad and grilled meats with sticky rice right at the waterfall park. Back at the hotel, you can freshen up and then choose from optional activities like a cooking class, crafts at the Elephant Parade House, or Thai massage. Your evening is free to explore and find dinner wherever you'd like, though your Trip Leader will have some good recommendations for both Thai and international options.

After breakfast, you'll cruise in a private boat around the islands with opportunities to swim in clear blue waters and spot nesting birds. Pack lunch comes with you on the boat. By afternoon you're back on shore with free time to relax however you want. The evening brings Thai cuisine and a fire show to cap things off.

You'll head out to limestone crags with routes ranging from beginner to intermediate, with advanced options if you want them. Using headlamps, you'll explore a cave and abseil out of its opening to enjoy a viewpoint of Railay (depending on weather and tide conditions). Lunch happens on the beach with those towering limestone cliffs as your backdrop, followed by a swim in the sea or fresh fruit if you prefer. Your final evening together includes dinner and watching the sunset on the horizon.

    Railay Beach to Departure

Your morning is free on Railay Beach to swim in clear waters, watch monkeys in the trees, or get a Thai massage. After saying goodbye to your friends, you'll head to the airport at your leisure. Hotel checkout is noon, and included airport transfers are available based on your flight time. It's best to book your flight after 10 a.m. to make sure you can get the included transfer.
