Itinerary
- Day 1
Arusha to Tarangire National Park
You'll head out from Arusha early in the morning and make your way to Tarangire National Park, where your first game drive gets underway. The drive takes a few hours, so plan on settling into your lodge by early afternoon. Once you've dropped your bags, you'll get out into the park with a guide who knows the terrain well. Tarangire has a real mix of wildlife, and the Tarangire River draws animals throughout the day, so you'll have good chances to spot elephants, buffalo, and various antelope species as you drive through the acacia woodlands.

Tarangire to Serengeti National Park
After breakfast at your lodge, you'll travel toward Serengeti National Park, a drive that takes most of the morning. The landscape shifts as you go, and when you arrive, the sheer scale of the park hits you. This afternoon and evening, you'll do your first Serengeti game drive, moving through the grasslands and open plains. The wildlife here tends to be different from what you saw at Tarangire, and depending on the season, you might encounter large herds of wildebeest and zebras on migration, or predators hunting in the expansive savanna.

Landmarks/POIs Serengeti National Park - Day 3
Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Crater
You'll spend the morning on another Serengeti game drive before heading toward Ngorongoro Crater in the afternoon. The drive gives you time to see more of the park before moving on. Once you reach the crater rim, the view is something you won't forget, and you'll understand why this place matters so much. Later, you'll head down into the crater floor itself for an evening game drive. Being inside the crater is different from the open plains, and the concentration of animals in this natural amphitheater means wildlife spotting here tends to be consistent throughout the day.

Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha
Your final morning includes one last crater drive before you head back to Arusha. By mid-morning, you'll begin the drive back, which takes several hours. You'll pass through changing landscapes as you descend from the highlands back toward lower elevation. Late afternoon gets you into Arusha, where your safari concludes. You can use this time to pick up any last-minute souvenirs or simply relax after several days in the field.
