Itinerary
- Day 1
Paro to Thimphu
You'll arrive at Paro Airport and get picked up for the drive to Thimphu. Along the way, there's a stop at the Iron Bridge, a historic structure from the 14th century that's worth seeing. After checking into your hotel, the evening is yours to walk around Clock Tower Square and the local markets. You'll get a real sense of how traditional and modern Bhutanese culture sit side by side in this city.

- Day 2
Thimphu to Punakha to Thimphu
The drive to Punakha takes you through the valley between the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers, and this former capital sits right in that landscape. Punakha Dzong is the main stop, with its courtyards, temples, and shrines to walk through. After grabbing lunch, you'll hike up to Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten for views of the valley below. Then it's back to Thimphu for dinner.

- Day 3
Thimphu
Following breakfast, you'll spend the full day checking out Thimphu's main landmarks. The Memorial Chorten honors the third king, and then there's the Buddha Dordenma statue overlooking the valley. You'll also stop at the Takin Preserve to see Bhutan's national animal, walk through the Simply Bhutan living museum for a closer look at local culture, and finish at Tashichho Dzong, which serves as the government seat.

- Day 4
Paro
This day focuses on Paro's historical and spiritual sites. The Paro National Museum occupies a former watchtower and shows Bhutanese art and relics. Ringpung Dzong is an impressive fortress and monastery known for its wooden architecture, and then you'll visit Kichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest and most sacred temples dating back to the 7th century. Before wrapping up, you'll see the ruins of Drukgyel Dzong, a 17th-century fortress with views toward Mt. Jomolhari.
