Itinerary
- Day 1
Colombo to Negombo
Your tour leader meets you at Colombo airport and drives you to Negombo, about 20 minutes away. If you arrive early, there's time to relax by the hotel's beach and pool. Later in the evening, you'll take a walk along the shoreline and catch the sunset.

Negombo to Dambulla/Sigiriya
After breakfast, you'll head through the Sri Lankan countryside toward Dambulla. At the Millennium Elephant Foundation, you'll get to walk with and feed elephants. The cultural village tour includes local traditions, a bullock cart ride, a canoe ride, and a traditional lunch. That afternoon, you'll climb Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a 200-meter summit with ancient frescoes and panoramic views from the top.

Dambulla/Sigiriya to Trincomalee
Following breakfast, you're driving toward Trincomalee with a stop at the ancient Ritigala Monastery, a secluded site in lush forests that's good for meditation. Once in Trincomalee, you'll visit the Hot Water Wells to check out the natural hot springs known for healing properties. The day ends with you relaxing on Trincomalee's sandy beaches with turquoise waters and sunset views.

Trincomalee to Pasikuda
After breakfast, you'll head to Pasikuda with optional snorkeling at Pigeon Island or Coral Island, where you can see vibrant coral reefs and different kinds of marine life at Nilaveli Beach. You'll visit Koneswaram Temple, which sits on a cliff overlooking the Indian Ocean. The afternoon is spent unwinding on Pasikuda Beach, known for its shallow, calm waters that are perfect for swimming or walking.

Pasikuda to Dambulla
After breakfast, you'll drive to Polonnaruwa, a UNESCO World Heritage site, to see remnants of Sri Lanka's ancient kingdom. You'll check out the Royal Palace, Buddha statues at Gal Vihara, and the Vatadage with its ancient Sinhalese artistry. In the afternoon, you'll go on a 4x4 jeep safari in Minneriya or Kaudulla National Park to see wildlife and seasonal elephant gatherings.

Dambulla to Kandy
After breakfast, you'll visit the Royal Cave Temple in Dambulla, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with hundreds of Buddha statues and religious frescoes carved into rock walls. From there, you head to Matale to learn about Sri Lanka's herbal plants and their healing properties. Once in Kandy, you'll visit the Temple of Tooth Relic, a major Buddhist temple housing a sacred tooth relic of Buddha. Later that evening, there's a cultural dance show featuring traditional Kandyan dances, drumming, and fire-walking.

Kandy to Kitulgala
After breakfast, you'll visit the Gem Museum to learn about Sri Lanka's gem heritage including sapphires and rubies, gem mining, and jewelry craftsmanship. Then you'll spend time at the Peradeniya Royal Botanical Garden, one of Asia's largest with over 4,000 plant species including orchids and spices. In the afternoon, you'll drive to Kitulgala for white-water rafting on the Kelani River with Class II and III rapids through scenic landscapes.

You'll stop at a local tea plantation and factory to see how Ceylon tea is made, learn traditional tea-making methods, and sample different teas while looking out at rolling green landscapes. That afternoon, you'll walk through Nuwara Eliya's city center and the fruit and vegetable market.

Nuwara Eliya to Ella
After breakfast, you'll take one of the most scenic train rides from Nanu-Oya station to Ella village. The journey goes through misty hills, tea plantations, and forests with views of valleys, waterfalls, and small villages. Once in Ella, you'll see the famous Nine Arch Bridge, a colonial-era structure set in lush greenery where you can watch trains pass and enjoy hiking paths.

Ella to Yala

On the way to the beaches of Weligama or Mirissa, you'll stop at the Hummanaya natural Blow Hole, a unique geological site that shoots dramatic waterspouts during high tide. After arriving at your hotel, you can grab a towel and relax on the beach while enjoying a cocktail or beer under a palm tree.

You'll visit the Turtle Hatchery Center to see sea turtles at different development stages and learn about conservation efforts. Then you'll take a relaxing boat ride through the Madu River past mangroves and small islands where you can see birds and monitor lizards. That evening, you'll check in at your hotel and relax on the beach or by the pool.

Bentota to Colombo
After breakfast, you'll explore Colombo, the capital city with history going back to the fifth century. A city tour takes you to the Red Mosque, Gangarama Temple, and Independence Square. From there, you'll head to the airport for your return flight or get dropped back at your hotel in Colombo or Negombo.
