Itinerary
- Day 1
Thessaloniki
You'll arrive at Makedonia Airport and get transferred to your hotel in Thessaloniki. The rest of the day is yours to get settled and take it easy after traveling.
- Day 2
Thessaloniki
A guided tour takes you through Thessaloniki's history and UNESCO sites. You'll walk the Byzantine walls in Ano Poli, then check out the Church of Saint Demetrios and its underground catacombs. From there, you'll see the Rotunda and Arch of Galerius before heading to the White Tower. After that, you can wander through the traditional Kapani Local Market. If you're interested, there's an optional visit to the Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki.

Litochoro
The day starts at Dion, an ancient city and sanctuary dedicated to Zeus where you'll find temples, mosaic floors, and old baths plus a museum. Next, you head to Stavros Viewpoint for views across to Mount Olympus. Later, explore the village of Litochoro with its traditional buildings and local tavernas serving local food. There's an optional trip available to Enipeas Gorge if you want something more active.

Edessa
You'll visit Pella, where Alexander the Great was born and where Macedonia's capital once stood. The excavated site shows symposium rooms and well-preserved mosaic floors from the 4th century B.C. After Pella, you head to Edessa, known as the City of Water, to see the Karano waterfall and the surrounding rivers, bridges, and parks. You'll have free time for lunch with local options. The day wraps up with wine tasting at a local winery specializing in Xinomavro wine.

Meteora
You'll travel to Meteora, a UNESCO World Heritage site with monasteries sitting high on dramatic rock formations from the 12th century. Two of the six monasteries are on the itinerary where you'll see frescoes, icons, and religious relics. Lunch happens in Kalambaka village before you return to the starting points.

Vergina
Veria is your first stop, a city with religious significance where St. Paul preached during his travels. You'll walk through Byzantine and post-Byzantine churches and the old quarters, including the Jewish district. Try the local sweet revani before heading to Vergina, Macedonia's original capital. The New Museum of Aigai and Royal Tombs are there, and you'll see Philip II's tomb with its 4th century B.C. golden treasures.

Mount Athos Sailing Cruise
Leaving Thessaloniki, you'll pass lakes Koronia and Volvi heading into Halkidiki. You'll stop at the Acropolis of Ancient Stagira, Aristotle's birthplace. From Ouranoupolis port, a sailing cruise takes you south along the Athos Peninsula where you can see eight Mount Athos monasteries from the boat and learn about this Orthodox spiritual area. You'll return to Ouranoupolis with free time and lunch overlooking the Singitic Gulf.
