Itinerary
- Day 1
Thessaloniki
You'll arrive at Makedonia-Thessaloniki airport and get transferred to your hotel. From there, the rest of the day is yours to settle in and explore the area at your own pace. It's a good chance to get your bearings and relax after travel.
- Day 2
Edessa - Wine Tasting
Start with a guided tour through Ancient Pella, the old capital of Macedonia and birthplace of Alexander the Great. You'll see well-preserved mosaic floors from the 4th century B.C. that give a real sense of what daily life looked like back then. After that, head to Edessa, known as the 'City of Water,' where you can take in the Karano waterfall and walk across the scenic bridges. Grab lunch on your own, then later you'll head to a local winery for a wine tasting focused on Xinomavro wine.

Meteora
You'll visit Meteora, a UNESCO World Heritage site with ancient rock pillars that have monasteries built on top from the 12th century onward. Your guide takes you through two of the six main monasteries, showing you the frescoes, icons, and religious treasures inside. After lunch in Kalambaka village at the base of the rocks, you'll head back to your meeting point for the drive back.

Landmarks/POIs Meteora Kalambaka - Day 4
Vergina Royal Tombs
The day starts in Veria, a city with significant religious history where St. Paul once preached. You'll walk through Byzantine and post-Byzantine churches and check out the Jewish quarter, trying local sweet revani along the way. Then it's off to Vergina, the first capital of Ancient Macedonia. The New Museum of Aigai has exhibits on Macedonian history, culture, and royal life that give good context for what you'll see next. After lunch in Vergina village, you'll visit the Royal Tombs, including the tomb of Philip II (father of Alexander the Great) with its golden treasures on display.

Ouranoupolis - Halkidiki
You'll travel through the Halkidiki region, passing by lakes Koronia and Volvi and the Castle of Rentina. Then you head to the Acropolis of Ancient Stagira, the birthplace of philosopher Aristotle. Later, you sail from Ouranoupolis port along the Athos Peninsula, getting views of Mount Athos and 8 of its monasteries from the boat. Back in Ouranoupolis, there's free time for lunch while you take in views of Singitic Gulf and the surrounding peninsulas.
