Baltic Bike Tours review 5⭐️ Cycling in guided group is a great way to explore Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia - we had 11 on the tour in early July. To ride in nice spots in all 3 countries required a van to get us to those spots to avoid all the farmlands in between. So, the cycling was great, the van in between was great, the city tours were great, and most importantly we had an outstanding guide, Romas, and his driver Darius. We were in awe of Romas; fluent in a few languages, and with a worldly knowledge of seemingly everything. For the whole journey Romas filled us in on the politics and history, so that includes while we were riding, in the van, on the Vilnius city tour, and every village and town we rode through. None of the riders previously had a good knowledge of the past interaction the Baltic States had with mainly Germany, and Russia up to and including the collapse of Russia. Staying in the capitals of the Baltic states was like stepping back in time - lots of history, great buildings plus buildings from the Soviet brutalist times. The cities were great for us because there were hardly any tourists around - pleasant compared to most of Western European cities - undiscovered almost. Our hotels were varied and fine and most of the breakfasts were excellent with enormous choice. The ‘picnic’ lunch was exquisite. As for the cycling, it was varied and very interesting and pretty flat, lots to see. Without repeating previous tour reviews, have look at the 5 star reviews for the ride locations and descriptions. The weather was mostly fine, and not too hot. Lots of inclusions including ferry rides, the Hill of Crosses, recommended lunch stops, and fabulous final dinner. In summing up, a well organised and led guided tour that will give us plenty of fond memories down track.
