Our guide, James, was absolutely incredible - knowledgeable, friendly, and always bringing positive energy in abundance. The itinerary was comprehensive without being feeling rushed, and the food was excellent (even for me as a vegetarian - it doesn't happen often with tours!). In just 24 hours, we saw more than we ever thought possible—seals basking on the beach, kangaroos hopping through the bush, and breathtaking coastal views that seemed straight out of a postcard. Our guide was not only knowledgeable and passionate, but also SO fun to be around. James made sure everyone felt welcome, included, and cared for throughout the journey. - Jessica· April 17th, 2025I’m so glad I chose Groovy Grape for my two days adventure at Kangaroo Island! Already in the planning beforehand they were so helpful with suggesting me which dates to pick according to weather and group constellation. Our driver and guide James was the best - he always found the right balance in telling us lots of insights about the island and leave us time to listen to his playlist or even make up our own! And one of the best things: you didn’t feel like being in a rush at all. Usually this happens quite a lot when doing guided tours, it’s like “you have 15 minutes here and then another 10 minutes there”. Not with James! He always gave us enough time to enjoy all the different highlights of the island and then intuitively found the right timing for the group to move on. Also he is a great photographer ;-) The first day finishes up with a yummy BBQ dinner at the camp yard. At the campsite you can also spot lots of wildlife like kangaroos and possum and sometimes koalas. The clamping tents were amazing, I had a great sleep feeling so close to nature. Also the included breakfast and lunch were really great. In general the tour is very well planned as we were always in front of the big tourist bus so we could even enjoy the marvelous rocks almost by ourselves.
