  1. Day 1

    Reykjavik

Your Flybus transfer gets you from Keflavik International Airport to your hotel in Reykjavik. After you settle in, the rest of the day is open for wandering around the city at your own pace. This morning you'll leave Reykjavik and drive out to Arnarstapi on the Snaefellsnes Peninsula, which sits right in the eclipse path. By around 16:00, your guide brings you to the viewing location. You'll watch the total solar eclipse happen, with totality lasting 2 minutes and 2 seconds, which ranks among the longest durations anywhere. This Outlander tour was wonderful. It was booked with Rabbies which was excellent. The group was a group of 15 people which I liked. The bugs driver/ tour guide Lizzie was fantastic. Super sweet and chock full of stories and knowledge. The itinerary and overall organization was good. I felt we did a lot more Outlander heavy stuff on day 1 and day 4 which I loved. In the town of Falkland, we had dinner and further spend much time exploring there and got tons do some photos but that felt a bit rushed and this town I looked forward to see while area small, I wanted to soak in a bit more. We entered all castles with no issues as 99% of them came pre booked or were free to enter with exception of midhope castle. The accommodations provided were both excellent in my opinion. I was very happy where I stayed and had a full Scottish breakfast at both places. During the tour there were plenty of times bathroom breaks and a lunch break. The tour bus was easy to find in Edinburgh with the instructions provided and we were dropped off same location with ease. I highly recommend.

are there usb chargers or chargers for phones etc on the bus? How is the seating assigned for 38 people? That is usually a problem with all rushing to get first seats. and some getting stuck in the back the whole time.

    • On The Go ToursOperatorWritten June 2025

The Iceland Solar Eclipse is a great option for viewing the solar eclipse while still taking in all of the sights Iceland has to offer. The maximum group size for this tour is 38 passengers. We can offer triple rooms on this tour, however the triple rooms are comprised of a double or twin beds plus a rollaway bed and the rooms are quite often on the smaller side so it can feel a little cramped for extra space when booking a triple room. The coach will likely be a full size coach for this trip (with capacity for the whole group on one coach).

    • On The Go ToursOperatorWritten July 2025

All the coaches are modern vehicles which should have charging points, however I would advise taking a powerbank just in case. The seating will not be assigned on the coach.
