- Day 1
Edinburgh
You'll arrive in Edinburgh and have time to settle in based on when your flight lands. The rest of the day is yours to get oriented to Scotland's capital or rest after travel. You're staying in the Edinburgh area for two nights, so take it easy and get comfortable with your accommodation.

- Day 2
Edinburgh
This morning you'll explore Edinburgh's Old Town and New Town, both UNESCO World Heritage Sites with plenty of history to take in. You'll check out Bakehouse Close where Outlander was filmed, then head to the free Museum of Edinburgh. Your Explorer Pass gets you into Edinburgh Castle where you can see views across the city and the Scottish Crown Jewels. If you have energy left, Tweeddale Court and the Signet Library are other filming spots worth seeing. Craigmillar Castle ruins are outside the city if you want to venture further.

Edinburgh to Inverness
Today you'll travel about 250 km to Falkland village to see Falkland Palace and the well featured in Outlander. The village itself is well-preserved and stood in for 1940s Inverness during filming. After lunch, you'll head to Newtonmore to visit the Highland Folk Museum, which shows 18th-century Highland life as seen in the series (open April through October, free entry but donations welcome). By evening you'll reach the Inverness area for your three-night stay.

- Day 4
Inverness
You'll start at Clava Cairns stone circle, which inspired Craigh na Dun from the series and has free entry. Then there's the option to visit Culloden, the historic battlefield where Claire and Jamie said their final goodbye in the story. After that, wander through Inverness streets where Claire had her honeymoon adventure in the show. Your tour includes a traditional cream tea, so you'll have time to relax and take in the local atmosphere.

- Day 5
Beauly
Start your day in Strathpeffer, a Victorian spa town tucked into the Scottish Highlands. You'll walk around the town center and make your way to the Eagle Stone, a 6th century monument with local significance tied to the region's early history. From there, head to nearby Beauly to check out Beauly Priory, the historic ruins where the Mackenzie and Fraser clans had influence. If you're familiar with the Outlander series, this location connects to the books' storyline. The two towns sit close enough that you can cover both in a single day, moving between them after lunch or mid-afternoon depending on how long you spend at each site.

Inverness to Fort William
You'll travel south along the Caledonian Canal and Great Glen, stopping at Urquhart Castle ruins for great views of Loch Ness (this is included but book ahead). Spend time walking along the Loch Ness banks looking for wildlife and enjoying the scenery. The dramatic landscape here fascinated Claire in the story. Later you'll arrive in the Fort William area for an overnight stay.

- Day 7
Fort William - Trossachs - Glasgow
Start the day driving through Glencoe Valley where you'll see dramatic mountain landscapes and have chances to spot wildlife along the way. The scenery here is really something, with steep peaks and open vistas. After that, head to Doune Castle to walk through this 14th-century fortress, which has an impressive 30-meter gatehouse that dominates the structure. If you've got time before evening, stop in Stirling to check out the castle there and wander the historic old town's narrow streets. The drive covers about 200 km and takes roughly 3 hours total, so you'll end up in the Glasgow area by evening.

- Day 8
Glasgow
Depending on your flight time, you can explore Glasgow's Outlander filming locations before departing. The University, Scotland's fourth oldest, appears as Harvard University in the series. Kelvingrove Park inspired Boston scenes, and Glasgow Cathedral's crypt was used for Paris hospital scenes. George Square serves as the backdrop for Frank's proposal. After exploring, you'll head out individually for your flight home.
