Itinerary
- Day 1
Edinburgh
You'll arrive in Edinburgh and pick up your rental car, then head to your accommodation to settle in. Spend the rest of the day exploring the historic city center on foot. Edinburgh Castle is a must, where you can see the Crown Jewels and the Stone of Destiny. From there, walk down the Royal Mile, which is lined with shops and restaurants, then stop by Holyrood Palace if time allows. Edinburgh
After breakfast, drive to Arthur's Seat, an extinct volcano right on the edge of the city. You can hike to the summit for great views of Edinburgh, the Firth of Forth, and the countryside beyond, or just walk around the base if you prefer. In the afternoon, head to the National Museum of Scotland to see Scottish history and culture, or if you want more views, check out Calton Hill instead. You could also wander around Victoria Street with its colorful buildings. End the day with a leisurely walk through either the Old Town or New Town areas before heading back.

Today you'll use your rental car to get out of Edinburgh and explore the surrounding areas. You have options here, so it depends on what appeals to you. Head into the Scottish Highlands to visit Cairngorms National Park or drive to Loch Ness for dramatic mountain and water scenery, or go east toward the East Lothian coastline instead to see beaches and historic towns like North Berwick or Dunbar. Either way, plan to drive back to Edinburgh in the evening so you can have a farewell dinner and rest before departure.

Edinburgh Departure
After breakfast, meet your driver for transfer to the airport.
