Frankfurt to Mainz
You'll arrive at Frankfurt airport where someone will meet you and drive you to your Emerald Cruises Star-Ship waiting in Mainz. Once on board, you can settle into your cabin and then head to dinner with the other passengers this evening.

Rüdesheim
This morning you'll take the Winzerexpress train through Rüdesheim, then visit Siegfried's Mechanical Music Cabinet Museum inside a 15th-century tower with painted frescoes and rare music boxes on display. After that, an engaging lecture covers the legends connected to the Rhine, which you can attend this evening onboard.

Koblenz
You'll explore Koblenz, which started as a Roman settlement and sits at the entrance to the Rhine Gorge. A guided walk takes you to the German Corner where two rivers meet, then you'll ride a cable car over the water to Ehrenbreitstein Fortress, a UNESCO site with views across the region. Later, the ship sails through the Rhine Gorge.

Heidelberg is a historic university town with Baroque buildings that inspired German Romantic artists. Your guided tour focuses on Heidelberg Castle and its grounds, or if you prefer, you can hike up from Mount Königstuhl for panoramic views of the town and surrounding area.

You'll transfer to Baden-Baden, an elegant spa town popular with celebrities and royalty. A guided walk shows you the town's character, and if you're interested, there's a hike to Altes Schloss castle ruin with hidden dungeons and views over the Black Forest and Rhine Valley. This evening brings a private concert in a historical building.

Strasbourg
The ship docks in Kehl, then you'll head to Strasbourg, the medieval center of Alsace. A traditional canal boat takes you through Petite France's narrow lanes and half-timbered houses, past covered bridges and the Vauban Dam, ending in the Neustadt imperial quarter (a UNESCO site). You'll have free time this afternoon to walk around on your own.

Colmar
A guided tour walks you through Colmar's cobblestone streets lined with half-timbered buildings and colorful flowers that look like scenes from fairy tales. There's also a guided bike tour option that goes from Breisach to Colmar if you prefer. This afternoon you have free time to spend in this Alsatian town however you'd like.

Departure
After breakfast, you'll say goodbye to the other guests and leave your Star-Ship. Someone will drive you to the airport for your departure, and you'll carry memories of the Rhine Gorge and all you've seen back home with you.
