- Carol· December 7th, 2024I would not book a tour again with Intrepid Travel. They did not ask for my arriving flight information. When I gave it to them, they said they could not get me to the start of the tour even though it was listed as part of the tour that they would meet me at the airport. They informed me I needed to find my own way to “the lodge”. This is the Amazon jungle and they didn’t tell me what lodge. Very disorganized. My room and towel were very dirty when I arrived. While the guide was nice, he seemed bored and tired most of the time I was there. It is the end of the season, but I was getting frustrated as it was hard to get here and I wanted to learn!Show moreIntrepid Travel commented on this reviewHi Carol, thank you for your review. - Diana· April 3rd, 2024If you like primitive camping this is the trip for you. Disconnecting was just what I needed to reset. Make sure you bring long pants and plenty of insect spray if mosquitoes bother you. List of animals I saw: caman, river otter family, squirrel monkeys, howler monkeys, macaws, cabibarras, piranhas, tucanes and many more. Words can not express how much I loved it.Show moreIntrepid Travel commented on this reviewHi Diana! Thank you for sharing your experience and posting this wonderful review and recommendation. - EDElizabeth· August 25th, 2022Our Amazon trip was amazing from start to finish! Our guide Edderson was so knowledgeable and his ability to spot animals and birds was incredible! We saw far more wildlife that expected, the food was great and our group was really small. There is no Internet but it was nice to get away completely and you get used to the cold showers after a while! I would highly recommend this trip!Show moreIntrepid Travel commented on this reviewThank you for your review Elizabeth! We're glad you had a wonderful time exploring the Amazon with us. His knowledge of the wildlife is extraordinary. We really had a memorable experience. The staff at the Nape lodge were very friendly and made our stay very comfortable. - AAnonymous· August 28th, 2018Brilliant 4 days in the Amazon! Our guide Cesar was very knowledgeable and helpful. He had excellent information about the flora and fauna, knew how and where to spot wildlife, and tried his best to get photos for us, and the other 8 people in our group. All of the staff at the Posada Amazonas lodge we came into contact with were friendly and helpful, and went above and beyond what was needed. They even invited my husband and some others staying at the lodge to join their daily football game! They were mostly local people who had a genuine interest and love for the forest and the people using it. We saw loads of wild birds, parakeets, macaws, howler monkeys, and other monkeys a black caiman, wild river otters, and many others. There were specific trips and tours organised every day, with plenty of down time to nap (after early mornings) and relax. The food was great, with plenty of options, there was a well stocked bar at the lodge, and the rooms were clean. On the first day we were given snacks made at the lodge (in sustainable packaging) and lunch while we travelled. I was not really looking forward to this trip as I was worried about bugs and snakes etc, however it was an excellent experience, and I would highly recommend to others.Show moreTrip date: August 2018
